Join the new world

Just thought I'd let you all know I'm campaigning to be the next leader of N.E.W, as well as Thusunda and Final Destiny (who seems to have pulled out recently, though). I've done most of my campaigning so far on GameFAQs:

I was the first member to join Now El313ct Winners after 94asm created the party. I've been on Erepublik every day, and since I joined over 3 weeks ago, I haven't missed a days work or training. Ok, so I've got the background dedication, but what can I really offer to N.E.W, should I become leader?

After seeing Thusunda's idea about Universities, I had an idea. Why don't I combine his idea with my mortgage system? If I become leader, I will set up a company or two, where workers will be paid up to 2GBP per day. At that wage, 1GBP will be added to their housing fun every day. At 1GBP per day in wages, 2GBP will be added to the fund each day, and so on. It would basically offer citizens an easy saving/mortgage plan, as well as a job, without any hassle whatsoever. If they wish to join the 'Mortgage Company' but their current job pays more, then a compromise may be met. The house would be given once they paid off their mortgage, with around 5% interest or less.

Paul Hudson and I have also been improving upon Thusunda's training system. As he sai😛 "You then make it mandatory that the person leave once they hit 2.0 skill in their relevant field. The option of training in another college can be offered at the cost again of a small gold donation. At a rate of paying them 2GBP a day it would cost 10GBP to train them to a 2.0 standard. I say a gold donation of 2.0 would be sufficent and give the goverment ample profit of around 30 GBP." The initial Gold fee would encourage users to use their invites, bringing yet another few citizens into eUK. We would make a profit, allowing the Q1 goods we produce (we would go no higher) to be sold very cheaply benefitting new users. Q2 and Q3 products would be sold by the other companies on the market for more established members. The training system would be likely to be implemented first, with the mortgage system being created after the upcoming surplus Paul has mentioned is devised. Both companies would be housing companies - houses are in big demand and they would benefit the economy and the mortgage system.

Hospitals may receive less focus, due to the systems mentioned above providing the extra wellness (users who have a house receive a wellness bonus) to new users who have yet to reach 100, extra jobs and more houses on the market. It would be beneficial to the citizens future employers, who would benefit from their already increase skill and boosted productivity (due to having a house). Not to mention gaining some Gold for the government due to the interest on the mortgages and the initial training fee.

If I become leader, I will set about devising a detailed manifesto as soon as possible, to gain extra supporters early on. A clear roadmap will be provided in the manifesto, so eUK members can see exactly what our policies are. I hope to make the manifesto both original and thought-provoking, but present ideas about a method of running the country as well. I will accept all suggestions from any members of eUK, and devise the manifesto and agree upon it's contents on this forum before I publish it. I feel our last manifesto did not exactly receive kind words when it was published, and I hope this doesn't happen again.

I will try and make N.E.W as open as possible to other citizens. I hope to target both new members to Erepublik, and members of other parties that are finding the political perspective of their party is beginning to become stale. I hope to offer new and groundbreaking ideas and make vital progress with N.E.W.

I believe strongly in creating sturdier ties with other nations. After the recent incident with Indonesia's dumping recently, it made me realise how important it is to forge alliances both economically and politically. The Northern Alliance is an excellent example of this, and I hope there will be more of its kind. Setting up alliances with nations further afiel would be useful for when the wars come, but it may help lower import taxes with friendly countries, and boost our international economy.

I am already the mayor of Oxford, the second largest area in eUK, and the largest area with a N.E.W member as it's mayor. One of the first to lower the taxes to 0 after Kaleb's suggestion, I have not only shown loyalty to 313, but I have proved that I can listen to other's comments with an unbiased perspective. My newspaper, the Freedom of Speech, is also unbiased, providing you with facts and opinions, but rarely taking sides.

That's basically my campaign piece that I posted on GameFAQs, with a few improvements. I hope you vote for me in the upcoming elections, but in the end, may the best man win.
