Vote No ! to new Presidential Proposal

patton
As usual without any explanation our President has put a proposal through congress to lower the citizen fee to 5 IEP. I call everyone to message their congressman to vote NO ! on this proposal. As you all know IEP is exspensive enough now. By lowering the citizen fee the IEP value will climb further. The IEP needs to go down in value. This will let wages go up and help our companies overseas in the export market. ALso it will help our companies domestically who are fighting foreign importers.
Comments
I voted yes. The people of Ireland deserve to pay less.
IEP climbed because it aws allowed to rise unchecked with very little competition in the market. I\'ve been trying to spark a price war and for IEP, and notice how it\'s starting to go down because there are more people selling?
IEP is the most valuable currency in the game and lowering the citizen fee means less potential gold for the government given away to new citizens, most of whom never stay anyway. Using the citizen fee to influence the money supply is a preposterous idea.
You are the same people who have stupid taxes. Taxes are completelt irrevelant in this game and besides the import tax I think I would proposes completely abolishing all taxes period. The government can let out money from the 14,000 IEP treasury to pay citizen fees and we can experience a negligible amount of inflation
It was done in direct response to recent growth of currency value. Let\'s face it we pay 1 gold to each person that moves into Ireland.
Most people when they enter the game spend alot of their money buying weapons and other things they dont need. Even if they dont stay that would be 10 IEP put on the market.
Patton why do you want to ruin the IEP and drive it down when its so strong??
Also a citizen fee isnt paid to people who move here anymore just new citizens. Also maybe something like 1 gold to new citizens might get more poeple to start the game here
--Even if they dont stay that would be 10 IEP put on the market.
you mean hopefully into your pocket dont you patton???
Using irish funds to pad your check book even more. now i see why your so against it.
What you are forgetting is he also lowered the import taxes which I said we should keep in place.
Of course I mean in my pocket and every other business owner pocket in Ireland who then pays their workers and invests to make their company better.
patton. When you were president Ireland was in sorry state. The more you write the more I see why.
You are a good company manager, and have good microeconomical intuition. However in terms of macroeconomy it does not work same way.
Citizen fee is only meant to get people started and in the long run it is Irrelevant unless you want to give out cash for free to people who just pass by. In fact the more we pay them at first the less they are likely to get a job any time soon. Why should they? they have enough cash to survive for a long time without it.
Plus giving out around 1 Gold to every guy who happens to pass by is a great plan... IF you are striving for popularity but not when you try to build a healthy economy.
Actually, you are wrong again, he had all import taxes at 99%.
Who just sits around and doesnt get a job ? Why wouldnt they it would make ne sense not to. A lot of the products on the market are out of reach for them even with the 10 IEP. For example, housing.
Second the indicator for a healthy country is popualtion. So yes I want the popularity if it gets the people. I would give away every single piece of gold in the Irish treasury if it got us 50 more active people. You know why ? Because active people put so much more back into the country and the gold would be regained over time. Our gold is just sitting there anyway. When will we use it ?
Dont you think they should work to spend their money?? and you and every business owner only make up a small percentage of the population here. You want our gov to use the taxes we pay to stimulate your pocket book. sad show.
He had all import taxes at 99 % ? Perhaps they were not enough American companies to supply demand. In Ireland however, all of our demand is supplied and more except for housing
Some gold may possibly get used by ISDF. Plus we must keep a reserve in case we will need to go to war ourselves. Sadly battles are won with few dedicated people and tons of gold.
I presented an Idea sometime to move some gold into private ventures, Somehow it was your friends who protested most.
maybe our demand for housing would be better supplied if we had more people working there than in moving.
No there was enough to supply demand. It\'s just that a laissez-faire economy doesn\'t work in this game.
When I moved to America for the war there was never any products on the market. I guess that was after Korbin though right ? Yeah Nave was president then.
ImaNewbie- Maybe it would be I just try my best
patton: while you speak about helping the economy, the people you do try your best to make profit regardless.
I still remember the sorry state your presidency left Ireland in. I can\'t say your policies changed much since then.
Speaking of Nave, he admitted that a planned economy works better in this game after he wasn\'t president, look at some of his back articles (liberty times)
as for USA, When ISDF was stationed in Austin for the SA war they could not buy anything either.
I really cant say I remember Ireland ina sorry state when I was president. The only difference is now we have more people. Any increase in standard of living is more due t that then any better policy
MIchael Collins I just dont want the taxes excluding import taxes I have no problem with some plannign in economies. I wasnt correct in labeling my party as laissez faire but I believe I changed that months ago
Looking at your party history theres a lot of things in your ideologies your willing to change. You have been a member of almost every party in Ireland, how do you change your opinion so drastically so easily, and so often??
Actually my opinion has stayed the same the parties have changed. Ciarin I created FF i wrote that it was laissez faire withour realizing exactly the definition. I changed it after I realized that is not what I wanted
IUP: \"We believe in minimal government intervention in the market. Except in cases of public services such as Hospitals\"
Seems pretty laissez-faire to me. It doesn\'t work and will ruin the country.
How will the policy ruin the country ? Give me the spread sheet I know your holding
Human Greed.
Spreadsheets?
- Ciarin dont give me that liberal crap. Huiman Greed in a video game ? Go join Green Peace and hug a tree
- Michael
I was wondering how it will ruin the country. Is someone going to raise prices or something. As the biggest employer I pledge not to change one cent. How will it be ruined now. Mr. Green Peace over there will be on anybody else who tries to change prices
So you want to have fixed prices?
so from what i\'ve read we want to remain to have the strongest currecny and cut citizen fee, right?
Patton game or not greed is still a factor. This game revolves around the currency in it which can still lead to greed.
Cracken yes.
patton, haven\'t you read any news the last few years? Guy killed a friend in china for stealing his sword in an MMORPG. Virtual currencies and items are sold via ebay. and even if they are not sold for real cash greed is still a factor. I saw a lot of that while being a GM on a UO shard.
Well I promise I am not a crazy
Anyway the proposal failed passage. Maybe an end of an era of IF power
one failed law through congress is not an sign of anything.
Maybe but IF losing the Dublin mayoral election might be
Again the only thing that would end it right now is a presidential election and a coalition between FF and IUP. Anyways who would want to put an end to something thats brought so much good?
Patton losing the waterford election, mabye a sign of an end to his baseless and irrational statements?
IF still has more votes overall (and me plus at least one other I know of who would have voted IF moved to Sweden before the vote), and anyone born after today won\'t be able to vote in an election. Plus I don\'t think I\'ve ever seen either Dublin candidate say a word.
