Vote Listhp Tomptos for AI PP
Listhp Tomptos
I am happy to say I'll be running for Party President of Australian Independents. As AI PP I would like to make sure this party can continue to serve every Australian as a neutral unbiased party that provides a different type of candidate at every election. I am a long time member of the party and have come to realise what an important role AI plays in Australian politics by providing everyone with a opportunity to run for election with their own ideas and also because it provides the Australian public with something different and often something better. I have decided to run because I want to give something back to the party that has been helping everyone for so long.
If I am elected I would like to continue the parties efforts to get new players on board as well as retaining current members by regularly messaging a placing advertisements. I would also like to see a more active bunch of congressmen and women because at the moment we are producing the most senators but many are relatively inactive.
As PP I would also like to introduce a Australian Independents Constitution that will help improve the neutrality of the party in the future. The basic ideas of the constitution would be as follows but the details would be up for debate on the AI forums:
1. Party presidents can not nominate for country president.
2. To become the AI presidential candidate you would have to put yourself up as a candidate on the AI forums 10 days before elections. You would then discuss with the other nominees on who would run. If we still have more than one nominee 6 days before the elections we would hold a vote as follows:
a. If there are only two nominees are left a 2 day vote will be held and the PP will not vote. The winner will be the party candidate for president. If it is a draw the PP will have the casting vote and whoever he chooses will be AI candidate for presidency.
b. If there are over two nominees for CP candidacy a 1 day vote will be held. The two candidates with the highest amounts of votes will go on. If there is a tie for second place PP will have the casting vote and if three or more players tie for first place PP will choose which two advance. Another 1 day vote will be held between the final two candidates and the winner will be AI candidate for presidency.
3. Before each election an article will be released to advise members of AI that they should be under no pressure to vote AI.
4. At least two thirds of the AI candidate's proposed cabinet must be from parties other than AI. If the CP nominee can not get this many he would be allowed to recruit AI members for the cabinet.
5. If over 6 people list as candidates for a region the list will be shortened with a points system. This would give points to candidates for having a manifesto, being registered on the forums, being registered on the AI forums and being a current AI senator.
While I have never been a Party President before I have tons of other experience that I think will help me in this position from being a four time senator to helping running the biggest co-op in the UK.
cya at the elections,
Listhp

Not sure I really agree with the idea of AI having a Constitution for a bunch of Indpendents that aren't actually a party. And I'd like to see something done about the minor parties that are slowly using and abusing the AI as a Platform to run their own candidates.
Good luck with the Voting though Listhp.

The constitution is to make sure that we aren't like a party and so that the PP can't abuse their position to give people prefrence because they like their policies. It also gives preference to members of the AI forums and current independents which helps safeguard us from being hijacked by TBP and minor parties.
It helps make the party neautral because it means that AI continues to offer everyone a chance to run for any position and helps active players with policies rather than people who agree with the PP.
It also means that AI isn't damaged by fiascos like the recent CP elections by making sure that the candidate is agreed on by members and making sure the PP isn't likely to try and influence them.
Lastly you will notice that it would make the PP publish an article that tells members they shouldn't vote for AI candidates because they are an AI member.
I get the feeling you just saw the word constitution and instantly decided you didn't like it rather than reading it.
Support, voted. Good luck.
Good luck 🙂
What's different between your platform and Aussie Vegeta's platform?
Why should I vote for you over him?

I agree with XG, there is no need for a Constitution, after all, it is an non party of independant players. If you pass something like that, then you are setting boundaries on what can and can not be done by players. If I was to become the PP someday and then wanted to run for CP as well, then why should I have to change my game due to someone else's rules. After all, it is a game and we are a collection of players that do not want to be run by a party of rules.

This might have worked, until RandomFace endorsed you. After his Impeachment attempt of the Countries duely elected PM and the unconstitutional vote options he registered, I doubt his endorsement will get you any Votes for the position.
@Rakkeyal. When I looked at AVs platform the only thing it said he wanted to do was encourage members. I want to get more members so as we can stay in the Top 5 as well as introducing a constitution so as we don't have people in power abusing their position. The constitution is to reduce the importance of PP so as he can't turn it into a party and take away other independents rights.
Sounds like this constitution is a list of rules for the PP to follow... why not just elect a trustworthy PP in the first place (anyone looking at me 🙂
