Join the new world

Hey Aussies,

I'm pretty happy to say I'll be running for congress again this month. With your votes I hope to continue to be a presence in the senate and represent everybody who has a left leaning view of politics.

This term I would like to concentrate on three main areas of politics :

Politics - If elected I would like to discuss the position of Prime Minister and his powers. This is due to a few things that happened this term that showed that the Prime Minister can really piss off the Senate if he wants to. Any act proposed on this should include an act on how often a Prime Minister can propose a law after it has already been rejected as Cottus Arci forced the senate to reject his Defence Policy in four times.

Defence - If elected I would like to look into trying to keep the amount of defence personnel and their weapon allocations reasonably steady rather than the massive increase we saw this term. This would allow us to do many things such as increase spending on smaller ministries, save gold so we are prepared for the introduction of the economic module and it would also allow us to buy more weapons from Australian companies hiring Australian citizens rather than going overseas to cheaper companies because we have to buy so many weapons

Economy -. There is one major area of the Australian economy that still needs improving and that is how we treat new players. When I am elected I would like to see an increase in the minimum wage from 1AUD to 3.5AUD (the highest paying jobs for skill are usually 2.5AUD) or an increase in the new citizen fee from 5AUD to 15AUD. This would allow a lot of new players to get more involved in the game at a lower level as well as helping them stay above 40 wellness so they can fight as soon as they reach level 5.

So why vote for me other than policy. Well there are many reasons, I'll list a few:
- I am not going to go inactive during my term. By the end of each term the actual Senate votes on the forums (where the vote that matters happens) are getting under 20 votes. This means half of the people that voted for a candidate that got in have wasted their votes because their candidate can't be bothered to represent them. I have been playing for over a year and have 7 congress medals so I think its very unlikely that I'll become inactive.
- I am experienced. Basically I have been in all areas of the game. I have been part of the Dropbears, a member of multiple cabinets, a businessman, a commune runner, a party member, a successful newspaper writer and a senator. So, while I am still learning things a year on I know a lot more about eRepublik than anyone 4 months old.
