Vote for Connell - Part 2
King Connell
So to get away from the petty politics and get on with the policies!
What everyone wants to know is what about Ireland joining Eden?
I’d like to say that I see Eden as the next frontier for eIreland, I think it’s vitally important that we do whatever we can to facilitate for the best possible chance that we’ll secure admission into Eden. There will be much more about this in an article released tomorrow along with the Economy, but I’ve been getting a lot of questions about it and I just wanted to make it clear that Eden will be a priority.
The rest of this article is going to address something which I think is vitally important for eIreland to get stronger:
Recruitment and Retention
So the military module has reverted back to the wall, this has made it harder for small countries like Ireland to be a strong military force
Wandering Rian once said these wise and true words,
“active players are our most valuable resource“
The more active players we have the more ideas for improvements we get, the more competition for government, more soldiers and a greater demand for goods on our markets. So even if we can manage to get a slight population increase, then the country will get stronger as a whole.
eIreland has a lot of potential as a country, but something which has always been holding it back is it's population size. Ireland in real life isn’t a huge country and that certainly doesn’t help us, but if we look at the rest of the eWorld there are exceptions to the rule “small country in RL, small country in erepublik”. Hungary for instance has around twice the population of Ireland in real-life, but last election time they had nearly 8 times more voters than us in erepublik. So there must room for improvement in how we deal with keeping our players playing.
We Need Stronger Babies
CelticTiger211 has done such great work for recruitment in this country, but our population numbers have still been going down.
In the period that he’s been Minister for Recruitment he’s brought 60+ people to Ireland sadly however he only has 1 Society Builder medal(which he doesn’t actually have due to a bug) e.g. only 10 people that he invited out of the 60+ made it to even lvl10. Of those 60+ people only 6 are still playing, that in my opinion is a pretty woeful return, from this example we’re keeping less than 10% of the people joining this game. We can’t be that boring, but seriously that is a really poor return and this is how I think we can improve that retention rate.
The Solution
We don't all come back to this game everyday just to push a few buttons, to work and train. We come back because of the social aspect, possibilities for political success, military success, monetary success or even just having some fun in the media.
Communication between government and all new players is key. This can be implemented very easily, shouting little snippets of information, hints and tips. Shouting links to articles about daily living or just something going on in the country, a funny article perhaps, a video on youtube. They don’t have to be erepublik related, but just something to make sure that if they log in on their second or third day playing, there is something there for them other than a bunch of articles talking about stuff they do not understand and two buttons they have to press. The game for a noob is not immediately interesting and we have to try keep them coming back.
The aim is to create an eIrish community where they feel as though they belong and are cared about. The ministry of New Citizens org and Ministry of Community org could be such great channels of communication, but it’s lying dormant right now. Getting noobs involved is the best way to ensure that they’ll stick around in the future and that’s what we need.
Health
The Health ministry, it is such an important tool for citizen retention. Paschoall developed a super system all those months ago in v1, unfortunately this term he hasn’t been able to be as active as he used to be and the ministry has been somewhat forgotten about. This is a highly important ministry for keeping our younger players playing and particularly now with the changes in the war module, more and more younger players will need this service.
In closing, it’s the people in the country that makes a country great. We must do our best for our new players so that they may become the heroes of tomorrow.

Good article Connell...I hope to see you getting the chance to show what you can do.
Great article. Connell for CP!!
good luck connell
I said you were in a position (based on your own words) to communicate solutions to problems you claim to have. You did not do this. Even though you were part of the administration you saves those bullet points to use against other cabinet members to further your political career.
I don't believe you care about teamwork or eIreland.
I believe you care about Connell Rath.
Good stuff and I'm seriously considering voting for you.
DT was not even aware any probs existed. Bad TD. Bad presidential choice.
@DT - Do you try to help or take shots at other ministers? there is problems with current IDF senior command and how do you respond...by saying im unaccountable and didn't supply right to soldiers. Your having a laugh honestly DT you critize this and after the way you ran the IDF you want to run are country?
I provided stats and info on what I did as MoD...what are you gonna give the people of Ireland apart from no weapons
Vote for Connel I wont impeach him !!
You stated in your last article that I had access to the orgs that I could have supplied the weapons. That is a fallacy.
And now...
And now you go on to further personally insult me after calling me a "Buddy Fucker" and a back stabber in your last article. You're questioning my honor!
I'll tell you again, like I told you the first time you personally insulted me. Find anyone that I have backstabbed, find anyone that I bitch about they don't exist, because I'm not like that. I'm here for one reason and one reason only, I'm here because I want this country to be run as well as it possibly can and I believe that with the help of some great eIrish citizens we can do exactly that.
Telling lies about me having access to orgs. Trying to make me look as though I'm just doing this for a power trip?
You're putting into question my honor, my will for Ireland. I love this place, I have so many great friends here and that is where my devotion lies. With my country!
Now would you please stop with the lies, please stop with the personal insults and insinuations. This is not how someone should run an an election, I tell you what! I bloody wouldn't do this way anyway!
Now if you don't mind, unless you have something factual to say. Or perhaps a comment on my policies, then please GTFO my article.
I absolutely am questioning your honor Connell. I absolutely am questioning your commitment.
If you do not want to 'fight' then perhaps if you had opened your campaign with your own views instead of blasting the IDF and the cabinet of which you are a member then this never would have happened.
I absolutely have labeled you a BF. If you find that an insult, I'm sorry. I find it a succinct summation of your commitment to this cabinet. Perhaps the yoke of guilt is weighing upon you?
Again, I ask you, as a member of the current administration who did you communicate with to strengthen eIreland?
What member of the cabinet did you contact to try and solve problems that you saw arise?
I know that I have been working with Nogin, Moo, Anthony, Kolshire among others to help fix issues that arose.
If you saw problems in the IDF who did you contact and offer assistance to?
Answer: No one. You saved up to blast the same people you signed on to serve with.
Was the last cabinet perfect? No. It was not. But you too sir were part of that cabinet.
Who did you work with?
@Marcus- I think you did a good job as Co-Mod. Frankly, I would have preferred not to have been asked to fill your shoes when your position became untenable. If you feel that I have attacked your work and history, that was not my intention. However, I feel that before you begin to cast stones you should do the hard math. There is no perceptible loss of efficiency since you disqualified yourself.
If you and I disagree that on weapons being issued during an overwhelming and obvious defeat, then we disagree. This was my fourth and last time as MoD, if you would like to step up and take the default MoD position, I implore you to do so. But if you do, I hope you will change your mind about wasting weapons.
"If you feel that I have attacked your work and history, that was not my intention" Id like to point out what you said about me in your article have you forgotten already..."But that is beside the point. Claims have been made by a previous MoD that weapons should be handed out to the eIrish people willy nilly without count or cost. I say they should not."
Id like to point out..it has been the same since before I was MoD. We supply anyone who is Irish and have been showing there willingness to fight. You seem to have decided it was a lost cause to fight even before the second battle was over...and yet you spent 250g fighting while the average soldier had to use their barehands.
"If you would like to step up and take the default MoD position, I implore you to do so. But if you do, I hope you will change your mind about wasting weapons."
I said previously I have made a publication of all people supplied. 44 soldiers where supplied. I never once got a complaint from the TD's or citizens in Ireland about how I done my job, you even praised the work I done. I was there also for are allies..something we have been missing. Why did I have to get a DoD article out to help Croatia?
I'm still praising you man. But no, we have not always handed out weapons willy nilly.
The fact that I chose to fight with my own personal gold is my own personal decision. Until you start paying my bills I don't see why you would care.
I've held MoD over four different administrations... we have ONLY passed out weapons for sponsored deployments and Defence of original territories each of those times.
I've no beef with you Marcus, but you seem to be saying everything was awesome when you were in charge and now that you are gone it sucks. I say it was good. And I say it was no worse without you.
I actually had respect for DT...not anymore he's pathetic. He needs to stop trolling and try to do something productive but that's why I am not voting for him...he isn't productive. Hence, my vote for Connell.
The personal attacks against Connell are just the rantings of a man truly afraid that he'll lose all the power once the elections are over.
I wouldn't be attacking people that have done nothing but service for eIreland, DT, or you'll find yourself on the wrong end of a backlash.
Hold on a fecking moment DT, Connell was what? Minister for Trade?
Minor departments hardly have the authority to act in a Defence or Finance brief...
"And I say it was no worse without you."
So why are foreign MoD's still contacting me and not the IDF..why are soldiers not being supplied...why was there a DoD article with just two lines?
Who called on the IDF to aid are brothers in Croatia...I think it was me..but I may be wrong.
DT any Irish citizen who requests weps is obviously willing to fight for Ireland and your scathing comments on people here goes to show your contempt for the Irish people. Shame on you. Connell for President
Alright lads, enough mudslinging and name-calling. We see this shit every month and I'm sick of people tearing into each other debasing their character. Especially to the new citizen, this stuff is rather deceiving. Let's try and go an election without making everyone a mortal enemy.
Cheers for the support guys.
@James, I couldn't agree with you more. What's been going on here has no place in an election.
@DT, Nobody is buying the BS you're trying to turn on here. I'm a straight talking guy and hear me when I say this. I don't care what you say now, after lying about me having access to orgs, repeatedly personally insulting me and questioning my character and loyalty to my own beloved Ireland. Trying to fabricate failings within my work... You no longer have any credibility.
Voted 🙂
Good luck
From now on all you need is a blank article... the comments will fill the void 😉 So many words... yet so little actually said. I agree with much of your general philosophy Connell but it seems very thin on ideas. Identifying problems is the first step... I don't think I've read a single suggestion in this article.
Sean Power: Like DT's articles were full of suggestions?
This is the ,CP race, tactically. These petty jabs will only bend you rep. But I can't see these changing anyone's mind.
DT's a liar and everyone knows it.
"I don't believe you care about teamwork or eIreland.
I believe you care about Connell Rath."
Well there goes any respect I had for DT..
''I don't believe you care about teamwork or eIreland.
I believe you care about Connell Rath."
Well there goes any respect I had for DT.. x2
well, that respect went away 20 minutes ago,cos of something else, but that's just another story...
my vote goes to you Connell
Cheers for all the support guys.
@seanlynch There's only one person sending out personal jabs
Now for Change!
Being new on ERepublik it's difficult for me to understand what's going on here. My only question is, who can lead eIreland to better itself, and how can they do it? Further more how can they do it while making sure that this country is setting an ethical and admirable example? That's what I'm asking.
Mr. Coleman it is Connell that can do more for Ireland because he is hardworking and a honest politician.

x2
Connell and Bristel are the 2 who aren't full of shit, but my vote it with Connell because I think he is a lot more experienced and capable. Undoubtedly in the future however Bristel Akina will be ready to take CP.
