Vote Derek Harland for President!

Today, on election day, Canadian citizens have three choices: Jacobi, Derek Harland and Patar333.
Jacobi, represents the status quo. Jacobi has been a very good president, in my opinion. Yeah, some complain about this or that, but all-in-all, he has done some very good things for this country in a very difficult job. Jacobi is very popular because of that and because his five terms in office give him amazing name recognition.
Derek Harland, represents the new blood. Derek has progressed through many governmental positions including being the VP, the MoFA, etc. Derek is also very popular, but certainly does not have the name recognition that Jacobi has. In Derek's roles, he has instituted some great changes to make Canada more effective. His restructuring of the foreign ambassador program is one. Derek has shown great leadership, which is the most important requirement of operating the nation.
Patar333, is a really good fellow. I like Patar a lot, and he can also be considered 'the new blood'. He has shown great promise of leadership, but is not yet as 'polished' as the other two candidates. And he does not have the party backing that either Jacobi or Derek have. So, while Patar wil likely get his chance one day in the future, January 5th, 2010 will not be it.
So it comes down to two candidates - Derek Harland or Jacobi. You can go with the elder statesman with five terms under his belt and a hat. Or you can go for young gun leader, unknown to many, but those that know him well are strongly supportive. We can go on comparing rèsumès; debating; bickering over who's party is better, etc. Its not going to result in any conclusion. The question for many will be hard to decide.
I am formally endorsing Derek Harland for President and the reason I am making this choice is quite simple (besides him being a fellow party member). I would like to give the new guy a chance. Canada, has more than supported Jacobi. We have given him five terms, and Canada is not bad off because of it. But, its time to see what someone else can do. Derek Harland is that choice and I am urging you all to vote for Derek on January fifth. He has paid his dues; give him a shot. He will not let you down, Canada.

For the first article related post, I would like to say that, yes, I love Jacobi, (Thinking back to Canadas' little breakdown, and return) but I am voting for Derek.
In eRep, we have elections every month, to give someone new a chance. Let's give Derek a chance this month Canada!

I've been supportive of Jacobi for a long while now, but I think Derek Harland definitely deserves a chance.
But just one chance, because if there's any major disagreement I have with him, I'll be back with Jacobi.

i'm a big supporter of darek and was the 7th guy to vote for him early this morning (or maybe it was the 10th and jacobi had 7, i've got a bad memory 😛)
anyway i like the idea of change and i know darek is a good guy who has worked hard for canada.
i dont really have a huge problem with jacobi, he's a politician and he acts like one with all the things that includes i'd just like to see change.
