Join the new world

Thank you for your welcome in the comments of my last article. I'm going to publish a series of articles on the political situation in Russia. Of course my opinion is in someway biased, so feel free to search for alternative points of view in the russian press (the articles there are often translated).

Main political parties

FRP - Free Russia Party
The oldest, most influential and the largest party. Was created when Russia was under foreign control and used all methods to bring the country back together. Most russian presidents were either from FRP or supported by FRP. Always controlled 50% of all seats in the congress, so winning only 28% in the last elections was a serious blow. Nevertheless its members control key positions - like the Central Bank. Since it was in power for so long the party is hated by a lot of people who accuse them of gerontocracy, bot voting, stealing money from the treasury and lots of other things.

Dark Empire Party
Appeared in the times of the first russian baby-boom. Second largest party which was very popular before. Introduced an innovative army system. Nowadays they aren't really active but keep getting a lot of votes in the elections because of sheer size. Some of their guys are quite active in the congress though.

CPSU - Communist Party - Soviet Union
Used to be a small expat party. Was an object of multiple TOs until members of the collapsed eRA party (including me) decided to recreate it. Has some good economists, a commune system, has growing support from lowlevels. Really popular for trying to return WSR from indonesian control (the operation failed, but the negotiations finally started and so the last russia region under foreign control was returned).

eRA Nova
An attempt to restore the glory of the eRA party which was the most aggressive and lulzy because it was formed during a raid from russian imageboards. My first party. Was based on socialist ideas with totalitarian notes. Imo the time of eRA was the best time in eRussia. Nova started alright but soon became really boring.

The Cossacks
Mostly an expat party. Talk about democracy a lot. Its leader was all about democracy too but when he got elected he quickly turned to despotic rule which even led to junta in the russian army. After he left his position the party lost its weight.

Presidential Elections

The two main candidates are 4epT supported by FRP and Dark Empire and chebbba. The first was a minister of defence and is quite a popular political figure, but he stands no chance opposed to chebba who is a world-famous tank, has a lot of support abroad and has boobs (she is a nice tatar lady). If the elections are fair (i.e. no botnets are used) chebbba is very likely to inherit the throne of the evil cold country.
