Vivamus!

Day 4,965, 19:33 Published in USA USA by LoganBeary

I breathed in the steam for what seemed like hours. It felt like pure perfection as the hot water ran over my skin for the first time since my dramatic prison break. I wanted to keep steaming myself, but I knew Gnilraps was getting antsy outside the door. I could hear him growling. So, I hurried up and wrapped myself in a towel.

“HEY! You gave me the smallest towel!” I yelled at Gnil. He harrumphed in reply, but I secretly saw him peeking, which brought a wry smile to my lips.

“We have work to do, Beary!” He shouted at me. I knew he needed me to work on political stuff for the 506 and also President Voots had requested an intel debriefing with me to discuss my experience in the Croatian prison.

Something crossed my mind, though. I hadn’t seen Wilker in a while. I hoped he wasn’t stuck in one of those horrible prison cells. But, I wasn’t very optimistic. No one had seen or heard from him in weeks. No WHPR. No radio show. Also, where the heck was Trekker? I missed that crazy lizard. I hadn’t seen him since our daring prison break. I felt like everyone had disappeared, and the thought sent a shiver down my spine…

My thoughts were interrupted as I heard DeepChill enter the room and drop everything he was carrying on the floor.

He always knew how to make me smile.

“Get over here, girl!” He said as he wrapped me up in a huge bear hug.

“Oh man! It’s SO good to see you, DC.” I let myself rest for a few minutes and breathe in the smell of his cologne. Geez, it was so nice to be back home again.

“Business, people…” Gnil already looked annoyed, but I just winked at him and saw the faintest shade of pink spread to his cheeks.

“Ok. We need some activity in these halls. Everyone’s been so stressed out recently with the state of our country.” DeepChill picked up the items he had dropped and placed them neatly on the table in the corner.

“I mean, I’m always down for a good drinking game.” I joked, as I scarfed down a perfectly delicious butter cookie from the iconic blue tin. It melted in my mouth, and I savored every bite.

My thoughts were interrupted by the clearing of someone’s throat.

“Well,” Gnil began, “We need to bring some life back into this party and community. The wipe has really gotten us down, and the constant occupation by other countries has made us all feel a little weary. So I propose we plan something fun as a party.”

My jaw must have hit the floor because DeepChill let out a huge laugh from the look on my face. Perhaps it was the shock of hearing the word “fun” come out of Gnil’s mouth.

At that very moment, a loud knock sounded on the door, and the sound of destruction entered the room…

I looked over at DeepChill and chuckled.

“Well, this should be interesting…”
