Visions for Version II: Volume 1

The recent minor debate on the suggested inclusion of Nuclear weapons to eRepbulic’s arsenal in the future franchise reboot, I feel opens the door to a more broad discussion on what I hope are viable and considerable changes.

Economic Model:
The current economics of eRep can be broken down as follows. War drives our economy, case closed send the jurors home with a gift-bag. Having an open war that motivates and energizes ones population to spend their own hard earned money on weapons is the ticket to a strong economy. Without that weapons manufactures have to lay off people and horde weapons for the day prices go up. When do they go up? When you have an interesting motivating prolonged conflict and people are buying weapons out of their own personal need to kick ass.
Because, not everyone can be Leeeroy Jenkins every day.

Why do you think Hungary is a superpower and the SOL alliance can’t play with the big boys? SOL has a training war in which their citizens get to fight Every Day. The difference is no one cares to buy guns unless there are neurotic in obtaining quick damage ranks…..for the training war in which no one wins. See the difference, Hungary’s citizens fight meaningful battles almost every day, people get active, attract more people, and have larger populations. The Same could be said for the US.
PHD material my dear Watson, PHD material.

I would like to see a method for Version II where countries can keep their economics working and their companies producing without the need for constant military expenditure. Countries that can either not afford to join the major alliances, or would get stomped if they did, need an outlet to improve their economies without having to take on Goliath with a slingshot. Furthermore, large countries who have just finished a campaign and want to regroup (ah la the US) also need to subsist to the next battle without our economy tanking hardcore.

This topic is open to suggestions on just how to accomplish our new economic model. It would likely revolve around an alternate item to purchase or benefit to acquire which people would be incentivised to buy on a fairly daily basis, war or no war. This may mean adding a scarce recourse (similar to high Iron) where one could work in and companies could make a profit from. I’ve heard a Technology format discussed a few times and I’d be glad to hear suggestions. What would be the goods being produced and what would be the purchasing benefit?

Because I find Chuck Norris jokes to be hilarious!

As an aside I would like for the ability to gift myself wellness. I know the admins like team play, but let’s get serious. The whole process is a pain in the ass. Either you need an org where you can donate, log off, log on your org, gift yourself, and then jump back. Or have a friend to do the same thing for you assuming he/she is on at the same moment you Need that wellness Right Freaking Now. Just allow us to gift ourselves. We are still buying the items and paying the cash. Save us all the god damm hassle, PLEASE!

This is the first article on Version II out of a Trilogy (that means 3 for the slow people) that I plan on writing. Volume 2 will cover what I refer to as Terrain Modifiers and How to improve the Alliance system. Please Vote and Sub if you agree with this article!
