The Brazilians launched a sneaky sneaky attack on Northern Cape late on Saturday night here in South Africa. The attack was intended as a damage draining attack against EDEN with the primary target being North West Croatia; however it didn’t play out as a diversionary battle and Brazil took advantage of their early lead and timezone advantage against us.

The battle hovered between the rural area and the city throughout the day and even floored marginally below underground. We may have had eight active mutual protection pacts against them however our allies were all focused on North West Croatia which was a must-win battle for EDEN. We had to take matters into our own hands for the most part and couldn’t rely on allied support as they were understandably busy with their own operations.

With seven hours left on the battle clock, the dire situation was presented to Congress and Cabinet for discussion.
The two options discussed were to:
a) let the battle play out without emergency funding and prepare for the loss of the region, and subsequent liberation effort
b) dig into government reserves and spend a bit for the win

The region of Northern Cape is of the utmost importance to us since it holds all our companies & the entire active population, the region itself is high in diamonds or soon to be titanium and it contains our only hospital infrastructure. The loss of this region would mean a mass evacuation of all citizens, the placement of an additional hospital, a massive drop in taxes which would severely impair the government’s ability to function and we’d also be forced to spend large amounts of gold on a liberation effort; not only this but with the migration taking part tomorrow and the suspension of the war module for a week, there would be no guarantee of a liberation in the short run.

The opportunity cost of losing would be a rather substantial figure in terms of gold which is why we made the decision to go with option b and pull out reserve funds for tanking operations. We spent a significant amount less on tanking than it would’ve cost us had we lost the region so all in all, we pulled off a great victory here.

When the majority of South Africa was asleep dreaming vivid thoughts of waking up behind enemy lines, cabinet members together with high command ran our tanking operations at the close of the battle. The tanks marched on to the battlefield at T - 15 pushing the wall well into no man’s land; however Brazilian tanks soon launched their own counter-attack dropping the wall back to rural. It was at this point that our allies started to roll in, specifically mass attacks lead by the US, Poland and Spain who’s last minute action helped boost the wall and secure a victory just 70k into no man’s land. It was an incredibly close ending and a victory that came at a cost to us but at least we’re waking up in South Africa this morning.

I’d personally like to thank all citizens, soldiers, congress, cabinet, high command and allies for coming to our aid and securing a victory against our goat loving friends. I also want to thank everyone who answered our cry for help and donated to the tanking operation, I can’t mention everyone but you know who you are 🙂 and I owe a special thanks to Tronyx, Lazer Fazer & Harrin who ran the end of battle operation in my absence.

HAIL SOUTH AFRICA!
HAIL EDEN!
HAIL BROLLIANCE!
