What are your primary goals in election for the Vice Presidency of the United States and what, specifically, will you do to achieve these results?

My primary goal in the election is obviously to have Justin win 🙂 In all seriousness though, Justin and I have been running to work out the kinks in our current system. While there are many issues plaguing the eUSA right now, I have chosen to focus on three items on my agenda that are very important to me. Right now we have a general lack of decorum in the eUSA. This has caused problems in congress, foreign affairs, the military, etc. I do not want to lose allies and hardworking members of society because leaders have not chosen to step into the middle of unnecessary bashing and general disrespect to put out the fire. I am here to be a voice of moderation and lead by example. I have done this in the past, and I will actively pursue the betterment of our interpersonal relations over the duration of my time here in the eUSA.

Second, my personal project is to get the welcoming committee up and fully functioning. I was given the job of Welcoming Committee Director this month, and I sadly realized that there was no committee. Right now, a group of us (this includes both fellow VP candidate GoBucks and myself) are in the process of conducting a census to examine the needs of citizens in the eUSA and their level of involvement. Hopefully, out of the results, we will be able to better the lives of all eCitizens, not just the new players. However, we will use this data to examine the issues facing new players (i.e. employment, wages, education) and develop new programs to assist them in their journey in eRepublik. The culmination of this work will be shown in the new citizen message we will draft to give to the president after we have our programs outlined.

Third, I also want to assist congress (as I am a congresswoman) in getting a new tax structure set in place and getting the budget committee up and running. Using Justin's amazing powers of calculation, we will be able to show congress market trends and guide an informed discussion about taxes in congress. However, a good tax structure also deserves oversight. I would love to help get the budget committee off the ground. It is something we have tossed around in congress, and I think it will benefit all. It will help us all keep track of our expenditures and be useful in justifying taxes and restructuring our budget.

What are your views on the current war with France and the war between Romania and Russia? Furthermore, what are your views on the position of the USA in Atlantis?

I just think that it should be known that I have a peaceful loving nature, so my beliefs tend to reflect that. I voted for war with France because I thought we were aiding Switzerland...but instead we have come out as imperialists. Whether we are or are not is almost irrelevant at this point because it affects our foreign relations. Combining this with the fact that we had problems internally, I would say that we have genuinely failed. I believe that before we ever go back into serious rawr, we need to fully consider the ramifications of our actions and take pause to discuss our preparedness and staying power.

Romania and Russia is a sticky situation for me. I really know little about the subject as a whole because I am neither Romanian nor Russian, so I have VERY little background and contextual information. Furthermore, I have been so busy lately, that I have not have time to browse foreign news. (Realistically, campaigning is eating up the majority of the time that I would spend on keeping up to date on world news...something I think is a serious issue...) The only thing I can say for sure is that I disagree with them not giving us the proper notification. Everything else, well I am too uninformed about to give a real response.

What more can I say about Atlantis that hasn't been said before? They are our allies and our source of enemies. They are an asset and a liability. When it comes down to it, it is in our best interest to stay in Atlantis because (unless a safe way out is created) we would be targeted the moment we left.

What are your views about your opponents? If you would be able to work closely with one in administrative manners, who would it be, and why?

Realistically, all of us are qualified candidates. At times, some of them are abrasive and tend to fly off the handle, but in general, they have been here for this long and are active. To me, that shows commitment to the cause that few have. If I could work with one of them, it would probably be GoBucks. He and I are currently working well together on the census and the welcoming committee. We tend to have similar interests in projects and programs, and with our drives, I know we could accomplish great things together as a team.

What are your long-term economic goals for the United States and how will you work to achieve them in the short term and the long term?

I know this is going to sound kind of ridiculous, but Justin is the main economic brain behind this operation. His experience and success far surpasses that of my own, but rest assured, he does not steamroll me. He and I love to have discussions about everything, and I even love to play Devil's Advocate in our discussions about policy. That being said, I am going to focus on pushing a uniform income tax and using the data we collect about production and consumption to help inform our decisions about VAT taxes...and combine this with import and export data to inform decisions about import tax. Reevaluating this could help us find a tax system that is somewhat in equilibrium with the market, something which is not occurring now. Almost everything about the economy is in a constant state of flux, so planning anything for the long term is a stretch.

Can you name any very specific things that you are positive that you can accomplish in your first term as Vice President of the United States?

See #1 🙂 While I am not positive that I can cultivate respect amongst the members of this society, I can try. Any pro-social behavior I can help foster only enhances our society. I am confident that the Welcoming Committee will be up and running by the end of this term because the team of individuals I am currently leading are hard working, efficient members of the eUSA. I think that taxes will be something that are in a constant state of flux because the market is in a constant state of flux. However, that being said, I think it is possible to get a uniform income tax and get VAT and import taxes adjusted to their proper place by the end of a term...even though they may need to change again when the next term begins.
