USA is doing something that just might turn the tide of the war!

IT HAS BEEN A TERRIBLE LOSS for us to see British Columbia fall into the hands of our enemies. Now, as I have feared would come, we stand together in the last and final province left for us to defen😛 Ontario.

Our fortress may hold with the help of our dear allies, but we cannot settle to be defending Ontario for the rest of our lives. We Canadians must do everything it takes to recruit new citizens into the game as well as generate gold. At some point in the future, we will break out of Ontario and take back what is our homeland!

So what are some things that the Americans have been doing?

1. Like any other medal in the game, a Media Mogul award gives a player 5 gold if they are able to get 1000 subscribers for their newspaper. A brilliant US citizen by the name of Cynic Grim has started a major effort towards getting dozens of citizens nearer to acquiring this award.

We Canadians have about ~2000 active citizens playing this game. If one tenth of these citizens create a newspaper, and half of these citizens subscribe to all of them (giving media mogul status), then we will have an additional 1000 gold available to continue this war!

Your task: start a newspaper now, and get people subscribed. I will now start a list of Canadian/Ally newspapers below this text. Comment or PM me to get your newspaper on the list!
1. Derek Harland's Newspaper called "The Alternate View".
2. Tyler F Durden's "The Soap Box". Tyler has made huge efforts to relocating Canadian refugees.
3. The CBHR Tribune, a paper run by fellow Canadian, Pheonix Cote du Prese.
4. Canadian Green Party News, the party's official paper run by Andrew Mendelson.
5. Chris Willson's "The American Joker" is nearing 1000 subscribers!
6. A link to another list of newspapers needing subscribers
7. Uraczak has started his own list as well
8. Wild Han's "The Boss News" could really use your subscriptions!
9. Panda_drew has a newspaper in need of subscribers.
10. Seribural's newspaper called "The Guardians Message"
11. "The Freeholder Press", a popular Canadian paper run by Alias Vision
12. Citizen B's paper, the "Independent eDaily News"
The good thing about this strategy is that if you happen to be picky about what you're subscribed to, you can unsubscribe to all the newspapers you don't read once they have reached media mogul status.

2. Americans are doing everything they can think of to recruit new members, including going onto digg.com (and other social sites) and posting recruitment links. It is obvious that Canadians also need to be doing this on a daily basis. Recruiting not only generates more players for our country, but it also gains us additional gold that we can use to fight in the future.

Caption: Try to recruit attractive people. Trust me on this.

Here are some suggestions for recruiting
1. Create a thread on a forum that you already frequent, and get people interested in the whole war aspect of the game. Try to hype up the meta game, as the game will visually appear to be quite dull to most newbies starting out.
2. Visit new forums or other social sites, make a few friends, and once you have settled in, get them interested in eRepublik. Tell them about our war struggle!
3. Ask your real-life friends! If they don't appear to like the game, tell them that they'll be doing you a huge favor if they just play until level 6 and quit.
4. When you do recruit players, try to support them and answer any questions they have. eRep is a very unforgiving game as a new player, so you will definitely have to help them out.

So get out there and start working! We all have a stake in this country and we're not going to lose it!

Sincerely,
dabman
