US News and Classifieds
The US News and Classifieds today brings you US-cetric news and current events and the opportunity for employers and potential employees to connect. This issue brings a response to yesterdays 'Rocky Start' article, a new Blue Sun lottery winner, some views on US policy, a pacifist petition, and a discussion on the benefits of offsite forums -- read on for details.

Response to a 'Rocky Start'
Yesterday the US News and Classifieds ran an article simply reporting the news (that's what we do here) that some individuals were upset with specific behaviors within the new US government. Our new President Nave felt the need to [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-117512.html]weigh in on these accusations[/a] and has a detailed layout of what has been happening in the new administration, definitely worth a look.
Blue Sun Lottery Returns!
It seems that after a brief hiatus the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-118891.html]Blue Sun lottery has returned[/a] and Jesus Christo is our newest winner. If you haven't already, head on over and snag a ticket for the next drawing! It helps the US and could potentially help your wallet.
Views on US Policy
User Pearlswine has weighed in with a weighty look at many of the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-117462.html]current US policies[/a] and was able to start a lively debate. He examines issues of inflation, printing money, and changing taxes and what that might mean in his opinion.
First Pacifist Petition
While there have been many thrusts towards alliances and non-agression treaties, the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-118381.html]NOWAR petition[/a] seems to be the first truly pacifist movement in eRepublik. French user Robert Henri has a multi-lingual call to IN-action, asking for signatures to support his completely war-free, utopian eRepublik.
The Benefits of External Forums
User Michael Ingram has weighed in with another insightful piece taking a look at certain organizations [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-118141.html]use of external forums[/a] to supplement their eRepublik experience. There are arguments that go both ways, but I'm betting the administrative team may want to take a look at how to keep traffic and participation on the main site instead of letting their user base get fragmented.
Types of eRepublik Players
Dishmcds has an interesting look at some of the [a url=http://www.erepublik.com/article-116811.html]different player archetypes[/a] within eRepublik and where we might be headed. Hopefully the eRepublik team is developing this game with Bartle's index in mind and making a little something for everyone by the time we hit a 1.0 version of our eWorld.

Maal, you like the word \"weigh\".
Just wanted to toss that out there.
Maybe I should add a \"word of the week\" section.
That is this weeks word, please attempt to include it anytime you _weigh_ in on the comments to this article. 🙂
Hahahah.. I commented the crap out of pearlswine\'s article. It really annoys me when people know absolutely nothing about economics -- AND decide to talk about it.
My article was written to present an alternative theory for a closed economic simulation that while often analogous to the real world market, contains distinct differences that set it apart in key areas. I\'d prefer if my idea were the only thing argued, you know nothing of my textbook economic knowledge, something I have refrained from using because it is not 100% applicable to a closed economic simulation that does not completely emulate the real world market.
Nave, I know Pearlswine...and trust me when I tell you, he isn\'t lacking in the knowledge of economic systems. eRepublik is certainly not a real world situation, I think you would agree with this, so I think any insight can be useful, whether you agree with it or not.
The real world is much more complicated than eworld. The economic principles we have are simplified and cannot cover the vast complexities of real life. If anything, most of these principles apply even better to erepublik. Pearlswine, I have a hard time you know about economics but then proposed that the EXACT OPPOSITE EFFECTS would happen in eUSA. It came off like you didn\'t know what you were talking about. Sorry.
