US, Brazil Ally; CP Candidates Final

Day 1,109, 16:36 Published in USA USA by Myles Robinson
United States and Brazil Sign Alliance

Former enemies--and, at one time, former allies--have now united in what is a large blow to the international sphere of the Phoenix Alliance. The United States, a member of the Brolliance and aligned with EDEN, is in the process of signing an alliance with Brazil, a nation that it has never fought directly but has usually been on the opposite side of battles than it. The Mutual Protection Pact came along after discussions between US President Alexander Hamilton and Brazil President Vigoncalves86. President Hamilton announced the MPP just moments ago.

New Brazilian allies!

In addition to signing an alliance with the United States, Brazil is also signing a peace treaty with Spain, ending their war against the European EDEN member and freeing up the alliance's forces from that front. This is among the most important international realignments in the past year, bringing together the #3 and #5 countries in terms of population. Now, in terms of national population rankings, the top ten is evenly split between the two international spheres, with Poland leading. This realignment will have international ramifications and may start to strongly tilt things against Phoenix, which was only just beginning to recover from over a month of major setbacks.

"Brozil" brings the Americas closer together under one alliance, and will bolster the region's influence worldwide. With the new resources, nations are beginning to eye their neighbors for valuable production-boosting resources, and this new alliance may very well pose a problem for nations who have crossed either the United States or Brazil in the past should the two nations decide to turn to their neighbors for resources in the future. That will, of course, be up to the next presidents.

PotUS Race Finalized
Now that this newspaper has had a few articles quickly outdated by the rapidly changing events of this presidential election, the ballot is finalized for the race to the White House. There nominees are as follows:

Josh Frost/PigInZen: United States Workers Party, Federalist Party, American Kitten Party, Pajama Party, NORML Party, American Progressive Union.
CRoy/Blank Keating: Libertarian Party, United Independents Party, Republican Party, Corn bread and chicken.
GLaDOS/Haliman: SEES
chickensguys/OnishiPersonalJesus: NoS 'Dive Bar'
CHJ22: Democrats of the Century

The race is widely leaning in the favor of former president Josh Frost. He is nominated by the two largest parties in the country and more sixth parties than the other candidates, and has strong name recognition. There is a possibility that CRoy will be able to pull off a surprise win, having done the most campaigning and having some very active people pushing for him. With solely the SEES endorsement, it is unlikely that GLaDOS will be able to pull off a win-- but, hey, stranger things have happened. Most people do not see chickensguys or CHJ22 as legitimate candidates.

In other news, the Presidential Debate was very 'meh' and I stopped paying attention to it. I'm debating hosting an actual presidential debate for willing candidates next month, maybe with a sweet cohost.

Voting takes place on the fifth. Vote smart!
