UNITY For A Better Philippines

UNITY

Over the last few days, it has been decided that I will be the UNITY candidate, representing the Philippines in the Presidential elections, for the continued safety of our eNation. The following text presents to you my presidential platform for the month of February, as we move forward together as a country.

Foreign Affairs

Shh! Don't tell, but this is the Sol sekrit handshake!

Primarily, my foreign affairs agenda will continue to revolve around Sol, while also looking at new opportunities that arise, for example the Treaty of Chisinau. Not much change will take place, though, obviously, on who our allies are. Our Sol allies have been and will be willing to protect us, and if the need arises, I will be glad to do the same for them.

What I do plan to change, however, is the way that the Foreign Affairs Deptartment is set up. The use of an ambassador to every country that we need to have ties with, is very difficult with a country of our size. And on top of this, many ambassadors never reported back to me during my time as DoFA, leaving me with the job, essentially, of taking up the post of whatever ambassador I needed at the time. I will not force my successor to live with this problem. Instead, what I propose is that we have one ambassador to each of the major alliances, and one for countries that are unaligned. These ambassadors will handle relations with any country that is within that alliance. Grouping these together makes it more likely that an ambassador that is needed by the DoFA is available and active. I will also require that ambassadors will give to the DoFA a weekly report on any important issues that are going on in the countries that he or she deals with. All of this will make information and contact more readily available for the Foreign Affairs department, as well as keep the ambassadors more active, by giving them something to spend their eRep time on every day.

Population Growth?

The eTooth Fairy. Our Greatest Babyboom Ally.

I feel that, now more than ever, it is important for our country to increase its population of real, active, and productive players. The Department of Public Displays of Affection Must be revitalized and reinvigorated. I will ask that weekly, the DPDA publish an official article on the week's progress. We need an increased population, so that PTOs are no longer a threat. We need trustworthy players, who will work to keep their eCountry out of harm's way. As President, I will push for an increase in advertisement for the game on RL filipino forums, as well as a call for all eFilipino citizens, RL filipinos or not, to ask any friends who they feel may find interest in the game, to join them in the ePhilippines. I will, lastly, work to bring some effective immigration into our country to assist in our growth, however the amount of immigration possible due to our citizenship request limit, this will not be a primary mode of population growth.

Economy

Ooh, a money. We need moar of those.

There is not much work to be done on the economy this term. It is not a powerhouse, but it is stable, for a small country like ours. I will look for new ways to improve upon our economy as my presidency passes, and I will be sure to keep skill 0 jobs open for new players. But beyond that, our economy should change only minimally under my term.

Military

One of our brave commanders staring down our enemies before a valiant battle.

Firstly, I would like to continue the restructuring and expansion of the ePhilippine Military. I would obviously continue the Southeast-Asian Wargames as well. Also, I would like to increase the production of weapons, as well as change the location of our source of Iron. PEACE is dead, we are no longer affiliated with Russia. And with the Chinese acquisition of its High Iron Region, I feel that we should attempt to get our Iron from our Ally China, rather than Russia.

Culture

Oh, look, we have our own eSupah Hero!

Firstly, I will obviously continue the actions of the MoM, and encourage that they make more activities to keep our citizens interested and happy. Secondly, I would like to begin a bilingual media. That is, I will encourage our players to translate or have translated for them, their articles into both Tagalog and English, so as to make our country more friendly for real-life filipinos while still leaving the media open to the large numbers of immigrated eFilipinos. I also propose the opening of a department of the Media. As we don't yet have an adequate population to fill yet another cabinet role, this could be an offshoot of the MoM while in its test phase, and potentially open up into its own department when an adequate active population is available. The job of the Media Department would be primarily to keep the country's media more active. This would include interviews with both current, old, and up-and-coming citizens in the country, as well as (potentially) news articles, and other assorted stories to keep the country active and entertained.

Lastly, I promise to keep our country updated on the goings-on of the nation, and the world around them. I will write an article a day, whether it's merely a short spattering of world events for the day, or a long, drawn out rant on how something big has happened in our backyard. Now that my platform is winding down, I leave you with this:

Oh, what's that? You say YOU want to vote for me, ma'am? Why, THANK YOU!
