Uniting Under One Common Goal: Forging Ahead

Day 643, 05:59 Published in USA USA by GoBucks

It has been well over a month since my last article, and what a month that has been. The eUS has been nearly completely taken over and it has been greatly diminished. For the first time in eUS and ER history the eUS has only 2 regions. I have been focusing my extra time and resources to the war effort. Already I have given 3/4 of my USD and a large majority of my gold to the effort. I also have began to fight with the mighty marines, they are truly a well organized branch ready to see the eUS and her allies live on.

I come to you today with a simple request, one I have asked many times over the past year of my eRepublik life. I am asking for your vote tomorrow, in one of the most important elections in eUS history. This congress will have the power to decide where we want to go as a nation, where we want to lead our allies and most importantly where we want to lead our citizens. The decisions will be tough, the debate heated but I am ready to meet the demand of a tough Congress. I have been in Congress through times good and bad, through impeachments, large tax proposals and much heated debate, throughout it all I have managed to keep a level and clear head, I have guided my self with reason and rational thought rather than baseless facts and emotion lead decision making. I have always set party politics aside and did what was best for my nation.

Over my year of playing I have seen many crises in eRepublik. To just name a few, the Martin Sunter/Eden escapade, Franco's theft, Jamat's theft and others from eUS politics and many, many more within my party such as the bribery scandal, anti-war effort scandal and the William Shafer events. Through all these crises I, along with my brothers, whether they have been eUS citizens or simple friends have managed to come out on top and I think no different about this crisis. Now, today, I come to you when the eUS has little to offer other than blood, toil, tears, and sweat and I have learned these things about overcoming crises:

Now is not the time for party politics and I pledge not to base my decisions off party politics.

"We simply must look beyond partisan goals and find common ground as Americans. It is imperative that the Members of Congress recognize that partisanship will not serve the American people. " ~ Mike Crapo

Now is not the time for anger and pessimism and I pledge not to base my decisions off anger and to be optimistic.

The optimist sees the rose and not its thorns; the pessimist stares at the thorns, oblivious to the rose” ~Kahlil Gibran

Now is not the time for dwelling on the past and I pledge to forge ahead to the future.

Fear not for the future, weep not for the past” ~Percy Bysshe Shelley

Now is not the time for blame but the time for new ideas and creative thinking.

The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.” ~Albert Ellis

As I close my article I hope you are ready to join me and be united under one common goal, forging ahead. We must not dwell on our past, we must not place the blame, we must not act partisan, we must not be angry and pessimistic, we must look forward to new days, with creative thinking and optimism, ready for what is to come and for the unexpected. Through this journey we must walk together because one person lost is one great mind lost and something we simply can not afford.

I humbly request your vote in tomorrow's important election.

Respectfully,
