Hello my dear fellow eRepublikans!

First, listen to this song and its lyrics...
It might resonate perhaps with you as well...

My lack of experience in An Amazing Journey now became obvious even to myself.
However, it is afterall

My Amazing Maiden Voyage : Day 7 - The Week Switch

The Week Switch

So the 1st week of An Amazing Journey event is ending and the 2nd week is coming. What is changing?

What do we get and what do we lose?

Well, first the good stuff...

The Class Optimist

If you are an optimist, then...

I hope you have all unlocked locations and collected the event rewards that you find the most important. Hopefully you have also completed the Weekly Challenge and got a Prestige Hunter medal, or you are close to it...

The Class Pessimist/Realist

In this case...

Perhaps you have just realized that this is yet another eRepublik event like the one from the last year and year after year it loses its attraction and nothing important has changed or improved... You have realized the meaningless of this game, the wars, the profit driven economy of squeezing the last cent from each of us with fake sales and "special" deals on Recycled Weekdays and you have decided to switch to double-click mode, or to perhaps leave the game and I am one of the last ones still spamming the "Media" space with meaningless articles about a meaningless game...

However, it's still all new for me, I want to experience this, test my limits and leave a trail, like a diary for someone stumbling on these articles, like breadcrumbs on a path from that horror fairy tale from Germany where I coincidentally happen to live now...

And if this kind of event happens again next year, and how things are developing/evolving/recycling, there might be a good chance for that. And in that case, even if nobody reads this, I want at least to have a reminder if I suppress this event in my memory after all the traumatic events... 😉

Anyway, I am not feeling that well, Id' need a glass of water...

The Glass of Water

In any case, whether the glass is half-full or half-empty could be subjective and could depend on your perspective...

So let's get to the facts...

Losses & Resets

And what do we lose? What is resetting?

The energy recovery? The amazing coins? The km travelled? The energy recovery centers? Some of the rewards? Do we get new locations? Do we start from scratch?

Well, I wasn't sure... So I asked my more experienced player friends.

So here is the deal...

The Big (Un)Expected Fall - Q&A

Q: Do we lose energy recovery points?

A: Yes, we are going to lose some energy recovery points.

No, not the ones from the energy recovery centers and I hope you have unlocked most of them at least, they'll give you a good push to the next week and its challenge.

😌 (Relieved emoji)

Q: So how much energy recovery points are we going to lose?

A: Well, in this Weekly challenge, up to 50 Energy Recovery points per 6 min, depending how many you have collected through your Prestige Points chase...

So if you collected all 50 of them in that way, then you lose all of them.
In any case, all +1 Energy recovery until the end of Day 5,851 that you collected you are losing today at the daychange, at start of the Day 5852.

Update: The Big UnExpected Fall - How it Really Looked Like (in my case)

Energy Recovery Rate at the Daychange at the beginning of the Day 5852.

So it took me 2 hours and 20000 Prestige Points to recover my energy recovery rate. And it took me that long because the servers were quite slow at the day change...

Q: Do we lose amazing coins?

A: No.

All amazing coins you have earned so hard you keep until you spend them through unlocking or until the end of the event in a week from now.

Q: Do all these tens and hundreds of thousands km travelled reset?
Do we lose our precious kilometers?

A: No.

You flew around the world literally 37.5 times or are going to, and you paid dearly every km as the prices of tickets have gone up significantly from around 270 to around 400 CC for Q5 ticket. You can keep your collected kilometers. At least those you haven't spent by collecting and claiming unlocked locations rewards.

However, here's a tip...

A Tip

Next year start stocking tickets earlier, before the prices go up like crazy so you don't have to spend a fortune on those kilometers. Or you pay in currency for your travels, if the ticket prices go up even more, in the end it might be the same...

Q: Do we lose the energy recovery centers?

A: No.

At least not yet. But the clock is ticking... Those 16 days are now more probably like somewhere between 9 and 12. Which is still a day longer than the last year on 15th anniversary Amazing journey event when the duration of each energy recovery center was 15 days. And how it all started before Covid-19 you could read here, posted by Gucio, one of the Admins. Plato also wrote about it on several occasions, like here.

Q: Do we lose some of the rewards?

A: Yes.

Q: What? WTF? (Work-Train-Fight)

A: Well, if you carelessly collected and claimed many locations with Fuel and you don't spend it before the next week starts on Tuesday 9:00 a.m. CET Time Zone (feel free to convert it if you happen to read it from another time Zone, but I believe we all know by now when is the day change...), then you are definitely going to lose them... So, fight, fight, fight in as many battles as possible, even if it's only for a hit! You don't have anything to lose... Except energy...

On the second thought, you want to start the week fully charged with energy as you'll need all the energy, including treats, and energy bars, single, double and triple, that you can get to collect 90,000 perstige points. Think about it... Spend your energy wisely, or even better, collect it wisely the next time... Collect it according to your priorities and only when you really need it and want to use it right away.

And of course, you lose the rewards that you spend during the event or the old ones that expire(d)... So keep an eye on your inventory and make sure anything does not slip through your fingers...

[bQ: Do we get new locations this week?[/b]

A: No.

You probably have more than you can finish already.

Q: Do we start from scratch?

A: Not really... Or both, yes and no.

You start from scratch with energy recovery points from the prestige point pool.

Energy recovery centers still produce enough probably to push you well into the next week.

Keep an eye on your houses' energy recovery though...
You don't want to let your houses expire before your +100% bonuses on energy and energy centers from active houses expire...

Adaptation to Change

So how have these realizations affected me and my goals set previously?

It affected me to some extent, but not too much. Partly because I have already collected most of the energy centers, but not all... And getting them all would need between half a day and a day... And partly because I realized these things quite late so there was not that much time to adapt.

Still, I did what I could as soon as I realized these things, so earlier today.
I switched my priorities from maximizing energy centers collecting only to maximizing energy centers, energy bars and treats collecting combined.

The Goal for Day 7

1. My Primary Goal - Collect as much Energy as possible until the end of the Day 7 of An Amazing Journey (Day 5851).

This means collecting as many Energy Bars and Treats as well as having an Energy Pool at Full Capacity at the Day Change.

2. My Secondary Goal - Collect as many Sky Hero medals as possible by the end of the day by spending as much of the surplus Fuel as possible, without compromising the primary goal.

So it has increased my collection of energy bars and treats a bit and it has delayed collecting all the energy centers for a few hours at least...

My Amazing Maiden Voyage: Day 7 - Energy Centers, Energy Bars & Treats

Day 7/7 New Locations

On Day 7 of An Amazing Journey I unlocked and collected 7 new locations:

57. Honolulu - EC402

Why Honolulu?

402 Energy Center.

I only wonder why they chose 402 as the number of Energy Center capacity... All the other Energy Centers are rounded to 10 points. I bet it's a typo. But it really does store 402 Energy in total.

58. Riga - VDC

Why Riga?

Because I needed a vehicle discharge document.
I still had 2 vehicles assigned to Croatia.
After discharging one today, now I am also officially a new protector of France.

Vive la France - Liberté, Égalité, Fraternité!

La Marseillaise chantée par les militaires engagés en opérations ou missions

59. Ottawa - Clear the Path

Why Ottawa?

Unlocking the way to Iqaluit Energy Center.

60. Jinan - Candy Bars & Refuel

Why Jinan?

15x

Why I haven't collected it yet?

3x

Unlocked and waiting for the start of the new challenge to claim the rewards as Fuel lasts only until the end of the current Weekly Challenge (Tuesday 9:00 a.m. CET time).

61. Iqaluit

Why Iqaluit?

Because it's warm there...

48x

No, just kidding... It's because it has a 420 Energy Center and 48 Treats.

First one I need to be able to sleep peacefully 6 min longer.
The secone one I need to get 480 Prestige points more and perhaps 10 more Amazing Coins or a few energy recovery points more...

62. Chengdu [4h]

Why Chengdu?

64x
64 Treats.

63. Volgograd - 15EB[4h]

Why Volgograd?

15 Energy Bars.

15x

So 2 out of 7 cities (in bold) are being Energy Center locations.
And I got an equivalent of 72 Energy Bars today.

Remaining Energy Center Locations:

6. Urumqi [8h] - Energy Center [16 d] 330
7. Pozo Colorado [12h] - Energy Center [16 d] 540

Remaining 100% Energy from Houses Locations

1. Pyongyang [12h] - 100% Energy from Houses [d] 2
2. Thiruvananthapuram [12h] - 100% Energy from Houses [d] 3

Sincerely Yours,
Janko Fran
