Reliable News Unburdened By Facts

Letter From The Editor: What up America? Yeah, I know you thought I was dead, and to be fair, I kind of was for a while. But I’m thinking that I might want to get active again, and writing an article seemed like a decent way to start. If I get a good response to this thing I might just write more and visit the forum from time to time. If you don’t remember me, and I’m sure a lot of you don’t, then just sit back and enjoy the article as best you can. Also, please note that this article isn’t filled with the silly made up news that I had been writing, but that’s only for this edition. If I stay active and keep writing then it will be back to the Grade “A” bullplop as of my next article.

Fun Is Fun!

Not so very long ago an article came out by a well-known American who shall remain nameless. In that article it was pointed out that for a lot of people this game isn’t really that much fun anymore. Typically thoughts such as these have been met with finger pointing. Most of those fingers usually point at the Admins, blaming them and the changes that they make to the game for ruining the fun of it all. In the aforementioned article the point was made that we players of eRep are as much to blame for the lack of fun in this game as the Admins are. The Silhouette couldn’t agree more. Too many players take this game far too seriously these days. When I first started playing this game way back in Beta the average player didn’t take the game seriously because they still remembered it was a game. There were fake religions, cult-like groups that would PTO nations not to cause them harm, but to run them in unusual and fun ways, and the average player didn’t care about detailed political, economical, or military analysis. They were here to make jokes, talk to the people they found interesting, and read a few articles here and there. I believe that the only reason I’m still playing this game is that I hope it might go back to those days eventually. I suspect that I’m not the only one that feels that way. Therefore, The Silhouette is joining the call that other’s have put forth to make the game fun again, by any means necessary. (See Below)

It’s Good To Be King, Or At Least It Could Be Fun

The King of England, King Cobras, B.B. King, Martin Luther King, Larry King, and the Sacramento Kings. What do they all have in common? King. What’s more fun than being the King? You get to wear a funny looking hat made of gold and jewels and tell people what to do. Tell me the guy in the picture above isn’t having fun. We all know he is, and you know what? He’s a King too! So when this article has been focusing on how the game isn’t that fun anymore what do you think I’m going to suggest we add? You guessed it! A King! I’m proposing that a nation abandon the democratic system of government that the Admins have forced on us and start a monarchy. If a nation doesn’t want to volunteer then I’m suggesting anyone interested in the idea finds the least active nation that still holds at least a region or two and starts a monarchy there. Why? Because it gives us an excuse to write crazy articles about the superiority of our monarchy compared to the other democratic nations. Because it might make us some new friends or new enemies. Because as far as I can remember it’s never been done before. But most importantly, because it could be really fun for anyone who wanted to join in. If people are interested then vote this article, shout it, and start figuring out a good place to impose such a plan of government. In some of the smaller, inactive, nations it only takes 30 to 60 votes to control the government. Would it be a PTO? Yes, a PTO from the boredom and status quo that every eGovernment is imposing on the players of this game. And unlike so many PTOs these days, I think this would be a PTO many people would welcome.

Happy Pepper Pot Day America!
