The origins of the account make me think it got caught up in the recent removal of accounts from way back that were bought/sold to other players. Several other high profile accounts in other countries from similar origins have been banned this week.

Shame to lose an active, vocal and obviously experienced player - even if we disagreed sometimes!
But on the other hand, cheating is cheating - so glad to see the punishment come down.
