Uk, Spain under attack. Hungary back on the map.

Day 1,095, 09:21 Published in South Africa South Africa by Bobady zoo

Another few days have passed and more wars have opened up. There have not been any remarkable battles over the last few days however there have been some key tactical success and some useful advances. The Spanish conflict has continued, so has the conquest of Germany and of course, the never ending battle between the Hungarians and the Romanians as well as another battle with real life roots, the Irish – United Kingdom war sparked up again.

Spain advances, takes Aquitaine

Other the last two days, Spain has counter attacked after a fending off the French and Brazilian invasion. Yesterday saw multiple successes for the Spanish. First they were able to take Midi Pyrenees and more crucially the high Stone region of Aquitaine which the Spanish have held before. Their also was success when they conquered the region of Languedoc Roussillon which hold little importance to the Spanish, likewise with Midi Pyrenees. The Spanish will be overjoyed owing to their success in Aquitaine as its high stone as it will help bolster their economy.

The French counter attacked, attacking Languedoc Roussillon as well as Aquitaine. Early on, the spoils have so far been shared with both sides having been victorious in 3 mini battles in both battles. Spanish will be eager to win both battles. Aquitaine is a key region as the health gained from houses does not count towards food eaten and thus owning a house helps soldiers to that much more damage. The Spanish are likely to throw their weight behind the battle for Aquitaine simply because of their high stone. The battle for Languedoc Roussillon is likely to see far less action. Its key advantage is that it borders the former Polish fortress of Rhone Alps however the Spanish have also attacked, Auvergne which also holds a border if the Spanish wish to attack it, and have so far taken the lead, with 5 mini battles. The Spanish have also attacked Limousin which is a high Grain region. Both the Spanish and the French have other regions however loosing any region will hurt the French. So far the Spanish have been able to push into France and are looking likely to return the favour following the French invasion.

To compound France’s problems, Poland – through the invasion of Germany – has gained a border and it could lead to a two on one affaire which could put France in serious trouble. To make things worse, Italy also has a border which means that three Eden countries could attack.

Hungary regains their land

Hungary has been put back onto the map following a successful Romanian and Cromanian invasion. Resistance Wars in Northern Great Plain, Northern Hungary as well as Western and Central Transdanubia; have seen Hungary put back on the Map. This will not be a huge setback for the Romanians as they still hold Central Hungary which holds many Hungarian companies and has great significance as it is the region in which Budapest is located. However what has hurt them is the loss of three of their Russian regions namely the high Iron region of Urals which they now do not hold a border with, Volga as well as Northern Caucuses which has high oil. They still hold Central Black Earth and may use it to attack their lost regions.

The big question is whether the Romanians will push for another advance, preying on Hungary’s current problems following their loss of many companies in Central Hungary and the Southern Great Plain. If they do attempt a second push, they could potentially wipe Hungary a second time and put them in the problematic situation of open citizenship. However there is always the risk of then losing their last Russian region and with the new alliance system, they would not be able to land swap back through Ukraine as they did originally. Creating an open citizenship situation in Hungary will be a huge moral victory for the Romanians owing to their real life relationship. It will set up an interesting showdown. The other option is simply to hold SGP and CH which will see Hungary forced to rebuild, losing many companies in the process. It will depend on whether the Romanians crave to see Hungary destroyed and whether Romania still has enough funds to continue an advance.

Canada, Ireland Look to carve up the UK

The UK saw its first victory in the latest Canadian invasion when they took back the region of West Midlands. This will offer little more than a moral boost as further success is needed before they can feel that London is safe. This was attempted by the attack on Yorkshire & Humberside which the Canadians had no problem in repelling. The Canadians then went on the advance attacking East Midlands which once again, they were successful in taking, this time without losing a single mini battle. The UK may be saving all their funds for an attack on the Fortress region of London, a region which holds many of their companies and their only high region.

The Irish decided to join in, first attacking Wales which they were successful in taking in a close fought battle. The Irish them attacked the region that Canada had recently lost, West Midlands. The Irish are severe underdogs with only a single alliance compared to the UK’s 12 although they showed in Wales that they will not let that hold them back. The UK decided to go on the attack, attacking the Irish Held American region of Connecticut. The region is worth very little to everyone although the Americans won’t want to see a British presence in one of their regions.

Some others

Poland was able to conquer Germany’s last region of Saarland, with 6 days before congress elections. The German’s are likely to do whatever they can do to regain their land before congress elections.

The overview

The last few days have seen successes for both sides. Eden will be the happier alliance with the invasion of France and the UK going swimmingly although they would have liked to have subdued Hungary. With congress elections soon, things should get interesting.
