Trying to get to grips with the politics here

Day 648, 10:27 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by Stilton

I am a relatively new player and I have been trying for a while to acquaint myself with the political scene worldwide, read a number of articles, but the problem seems to be that a number of people just can't avoid being personal.

Any number of articles start well, then it becomes "PEACE stole my Barbie", and "EDEN/Fortis pulled my hair", at which point I normally stop reading.

Impartial and factual articles would be great if you are attempting the journalistic integrity kind of articles, but mud-slinging just leaves me cold, and if you REALLY can't avoid the mud-slinging, any chance you could make them funny too?

I like the fact that people are enthusiastic about the game, but there is such a thing as being TOO enthusiastic, in a world where war means you might not be as well for work tomorrow, surely that would mean it should be easier to try and explain your point calmly, rationally and without recourse to name-calling, which I feel would probably help to get your message across to the people you wish to reach.

Anyone that reads this, ( If,indeed, anyone does 🙂 ), if you know of articles, from both/all sides preferably, that would help me gain an understanding of world politics, without the sniping and childish comments, please mail me the links or add them to the comments.
