TOs Schisms and Proxys, oh my!: PP Coverage
Aran Tal
Quite an interesting month in the parties, as two TOs succeed and several of the races were competitive to the very end. Congratulations to Severin, Starks Hayter and 5n4keyes who hold onto their positions as Franz Moehle and George Steinberg begin their reigns.
Mannimarco and Jerek White have radically altered their party's personalities since winning the election.
Full coverage:
IUP: Irish Union Party
180 members, Center, Libertarian
Nine Congressmen
Outgoing President: Severin
Candidates:
Severin, 59 votes: 82%
Vyse, 13 votes: 18%
72 votes, 40%
The IUP decide, with considerable unity that Severin has taken the party in the right direction and are willing to see another month of his reign. Party founder Vyse can only be embarrassed by this result even though he might claim he 'wasn't really running.' An article released during voting day seems to have made it clear that Vyse had conceded to Severin within hours of polls opening.
-ISRP-: Irish Socialist Republican Party
119 members, Far-left, Libertarian
Fourteen Congressmen
Outgoing President: Starks Hayter
Candidates:
Starks Hayter, 21 votes: 37%
binksy, 15 votes: 26%
Theus Jackus, 14 votes: 25%
Thomas Page, 4 votes: 7%
Leon Bonaparte, 3 vote: 5%
57 votes, 48%
The ISRP's race to the finish line was gripping until the last minute as two clear factions have evolved in the party, one supporting hard leftist Theus Jackus and the other supporting so-called moderate Starks Hayter.
In the end it seems like Jackus' support bottomed out mid-way through the day as Starks leapt to a convincing win. Another so-called moderate candidate, binksy fared well, and can take pride in this result going on with his career.
Thomas Page completes an uninterrupted three-month losing streak for presidency of the party he co-founded which began in march. Little known challenger Leon Bonaparte failed to campaign, resulting in only his own vote and a few drifters being counted and leaving a two gold hole in his pocket for nothing.
IF: Ireland First - Eireann Chead
70 members, Center-left, Libertarian
Five Congressmen
Outgoing President: Top Gun*
(*As Top Gun resigned two days ago O Bass served as president in the interim)
Candidates:
George Steinberg, 17 votes: 100%
Ran unopposed
17 votes, 24%
Michael Collins' tourism and Top Gun's resignation and defection to Fianna Fail leaves little known two-term congressman George Steinberg with a shell of a party to reconstruct.
Fianna Fail
57 members, Center-left, Libertarian
Has now become:
Irish Citizen Front
55 members, Far-left, Totalitarian
Four Congressmen
Outgoing President: Anton Sidequest
Candidates:
Mannimarco, 10 votes: 42%
bunnieman, 7 votes: 29%
enoofu, 6 votes: 25%
Aaron Keeley, 1 vote: 4%
24 votes, 42%
Mannimarco has promised to annihilate Fianna Fail and in its place construct some sort of shrine to Communism called the Irish Citizen's (sic) Front. This ludicrous idea is supported by well known figures such as Michael Collins and Sean Greene among others who, more out of boredom than anything else have decided to go along with this notion. Sadly no-one told Mannimarco and now he has a platform for trolling the country even more. I say all this in full knowledge that I will be called a capitalist pigdog. Article here.
Unless you lived under a rock for the last two weeks you knew this was coming, yet Fianna Fail had too many candidates in the field and were the method of their own distruction. Pure and simple, enoofu and bunnieman should have worked something out between themselves to avoid this TO, but for whatever reason they did not and now they have lost their party.
I have called for Fianna Fail to revolutionise itself before but this is not what I meant.
IFP: Irish Freedom Party
47 members, Center-left, Libertarian
One Congressman
Outgoing President: 5n4keyes
Candidates:
5n4keyes, 14 votes: 45%
Alex Darky, 11 votes: 35%
Artaxerxes Pavonis, 4 votes: 13%
failte, 2 votes: 6%
31 votes, 61%
Alex Darky very nearly took over the reigns of this seriously ill party, but long-term president 5n4keyes had a surge of votes towards the end of the day to secure another term at the helm.
It seems like everyone wanted to TO someone this month and Artaxerxes Pavonis was explicit about his intent to do so to the IFP... sadly he forgot to get any votes and barely beat dead bottom with unknown failte.
Non-congressional parties
The Irish Party
22 members, Center-right, Totalitarian
Zero Congressmen
Outgoing President: Thomas Oliver
Candidates:
Franz Moehle, 5 votes: 100%
Ran unopposed
5 votes, 22%
Ireland's only overtly fascist party, I have nothing to say about the Irish Party as it is about as relevant to modern eIrish politics as the man in the moon.
IDP: Irish Democratic Party
20 members, Center-left, Libertarian
is now:
Freeman's Party of Ireland
19 members, Far-right, Anarchist
One Congressman
Outgoing President: shadowking
Candidates:
Jerek White, 7 votes: 100%
Ran unopposed
7 votes, 35%
Another take over here. Jerek White plans to tear down the Irish Democratic Party and in its place build the "Freeman's Party of Ireland." His article on the subject is here
And that's the lot for this month.
Much Love

Stupid ICF!!!
Nice detail Aran.. do you think the "man in the moon" will actually run next time? Ah well, why not, there's plenty of spacers looking for a vote each campaign.
I think i might vote for the man in the moon... tell me more 😉
'Moderate' is an opinion
"Vyse can only be embarrassed by this result"
Not really. It'd of been embarrassing if I had come close to winning without actually campaigning. Not just for me but IUP in general.
Aran, if your goal was to present an unbiased view of elections than you have certainly failed. Please explain, with facts, why it was "ludicrous" to form the ICF.
I was looking forward to this article 🙂 Good, well written coverage as always Aran.
Villien, unbiased is not my job. Read the Minister for Information's article.
Enjoy your new party 😛
Thanks Aran. I just hope we can keep things interesting and liven up the political debate a little. Good luck to my old ISRP comrades.
Thank for the article read the other on the political elections but I have to say this one really helped me understand a lil more everything thats going on. Good history and good facts. Thank you
Crimson, none of this is fact, just opinion.
Yeah, none of these people actually won at all (???)
Welldone aaron great work.
I wouldn't consider Art's campaign as a TO attempt. He's been a member of the IFP for a while now and only wanted to shift the party's ideologies a little. He also refused outside help, wanting to run on his own merit and with the support of actual IFP members.
Other than that...ICF forever! Death to the capitalist pig dogs!
Ignore the carping Aran.
Political commentary has to contain some opinion or it's just deadly dull reportage. We can get the stats by looking at the web page. If people don't like your opinion, they dont have to read it.
I'll have to fully agree with Vilien.
Defining ludicrous a political idea without offering a serious explaination for such a strong adjective is not worth of any journalistic product.
Well done Aran a well writen article 🙂
well done aran
however i would like to say that id call myself more left than right
sorry more left than center or moderate
I know, I was using the term as that was how Sean and some others were referring to ye...
