To eHispanic Citizens
Warren Moore
After recently reading a disturbing article slamming the USA by a alleged member of our own National Guard, I felt that I should slam those same slammers (How's that for an alliteration-or is it assonance?) For those that didn't read the article, here's a link: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/usa-mexican-war-743722/1/20
The article's main purpose is to bash the US for attacking Mexico, claiming we would simply take them over thus expanding our borders. The accusations are not what bother me, however. It's the fact that they are being addressed to Hispanic citizens of the eUSA! I don't care where your parents came from, or where you travel every summer, you should never proclaim Mexican Pride when you live in eAmerica. I see this same attitude portrayed in real life. At the real life USA-Mexico soccer game, I am sure the majority of the Mexican fans resided in the US. You live in this country for a reason, so don't go constantly abandoning it (in the metaphorical sense) in favor of foreign countries.
I for one am tired of this attitude. Even if this is just a game, pride in YOUR country, not your parent's of friends' or vacation spot's, is unequivocally important. To all fellow AMERICANS who are tired of this, vote and comment your opinions.

It is hard to forget ones own roots. But if you live in eAmerica
you should learn to love it and be loyal.
So true....
But I have pride in both MY Countries!
Totally true.
Coexistence is vital. Though don't bite the hand that grows the food.
I 100% endorse this message
I'm glad no one became offended. Being proud of other countries is one thing. Choosing them over America is a different matter, though.
Probably not the best tone to take with somebody you want to remain loyal.
It's a valid point, but you're talking about something engrained into someone's culture. You gave the example of the soccer game, it's just that, a game and nothing else. You can be proud of both your country and your heritage. With the immigration issue going on, I can just imagine the faces I would get if I held up a Mexican flag in comparison to someone holding up an Italian or Irish flag. Just a random thought.
@ Sam: if my tone changes their attitude about America, then good. I don't want someone that easily swayed to be considered American.
