Time for experience: A new White House contender

Day 1,194, 16:05 Published in USA USA by Harrison Richardson
America,

Today, I come to you with an offer; an experienced leader, with an experienced team, ready to tackle the tough challenges this nation faces.

Harrison Richardson and Ligtreb humbly submit our joint application for the White House this month.

This has been, without a doubt, one of the most eventful terms for a President that I can remember. We started off losing our elected leader, Mizu o7, just days into his term. We dealt with an INCI group that were new to our country and still have to integrate into our society. We continually deal with a new alliance structure that tests our foreign policy experts in trying ways every day.

The events of last night are fresh in all of our minds. Some overreacted and others acted within their power to defend their country. I support GoalieBCSC’s actions last night and think he made the proper decision to utilize the powers given to him. The problems with INCI stem from a lack of communication between the two groups. They thought they were required to run a candidate in each state; they were not aware of the distinction between blocker and candidate. For weeks, myself and others have done our best to communicate with INCI but a language barrier does exist. I do believe that there was some good faith in the INCI leadership last night. I do believe that they tried to follow the rules of the FEC in placing candidates in every state, so that Serb PTO’ers couldn’t, and I do believe they tried to control their voters to no avail. As with two clickers, some of their voters seemed to vote without their control. This is a mistake we can accept once. On the flip side, INCI should not complain about the FEC presence in the election. The US Government reacted to what it saw was a threat and acted swiftly. The top 5 sans INCI came together and worked well. This is progress. And while INCI is not totally at fault for some things, for others they are. INCI must work to integrate. They were offered spots in Seal Team 6 but quit because they didn’t want to work in communes as requested, just like every other Seal. They continually disregard proper Immigration protocol by blindly approving anyone they want. They cannot claim ignorance from the rules because I personally briefed them on the rules. That is not acceptable and the actions are paramount to a threat to the security of this nation. Take this as a stern warning from a presidential contender:Cease and desist in circumventing the rules of this nation, INCI.

We need a president with the forward thinking to lead this nation. We need a president who does not merely react to the changes of the world but rather shapes them. I have ideas for this term for how to deal with our toughest challenges. In regards to the recent military amendment, I have plans to empower the Secretary of Defense to act as a true military manager. As in real life, the Secretary will maintain operational control over the military. The powers that the President has will be shifted to the Secretary. This is not to say the President won’t remain the Commander-in-Chief, but his proxy, the Secretary, will manage the day-to-day affairs from the Executive side in conert with the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs. This de-politicizes the Presidency and gives the President more time to focus on other, more urgent issues. Further, it will allow the President to pick someone with a strong military background to manage the military. This quells the fears of the military of a politico running their entire operation. I have my Secretary picked and he is someone with a strong military and political background. Further information on other issues will be provided in an official platform to be released later.

I am preparing a cabinet as we speak. I am not asking for endorsements from those who I solicit help from. In any case, I am often asking them not to endorse me if they weren’t planning to anyway. I ask these people to work not because I need their support but rather because the day I am elected, I plan to hit the ground running tackling the challenges we face. These challenges take experience. They take the experience of an old hand.

I am sure this article will be met with criticism from every corner on my age and how I should let newer players take a chance. This is legitimate criticism and I say this is a decision I did not make quickly nor lightly. I spoke to close confidants for days leading up to this announcement. I was urged by many to run. Some sought an experienced person to run for the highest office in our trying times. Others yet sought a unity candidate that the top 5 parties could rally around. I do not plan to run for more than one term and, just as in previous administrations, my term will be focused on developing new leaders. The administration will look nothing like previous ones. New players will be given chances. If you think an old player running stymies new players from advancing, I urge you to ask PigInZen, Woxan, and Chocolate McSkittles how they thought I stymied their advance. They all served under me and would argue I helped them achieve the Presidency.

I have experience as the leader of a multi-nation alliance. I have experience as the Chief Executive as one of the nation’s largest conglomerates. I have experience as a soldier in the Airborne, Army, and Training Corps. I have experience as a diplomat. Most important, I have experience being the President, and above all else, that is what we need right now.
