Thinking about Geezus Black Market Idea
Akki
I rarely write, but his interesting program supported by the money from his fellow congressmen in Team Nippon caught my interest enough to write this. (and you can tell I don't pay attention to media enough, as Geezus wrote his article few days back). Original article from Geezus is located at: http://www.erepublik.com/en/article/higher-vat-not-for-nippons--2023948/1/20
So, let's see... Total of 37 gold was donated for the cause subtracting Geezus from Team Nippon congressmen.
Assuming that Geezus is losing money with lowered price by the amount he lowered, he loses 0.5 JPY per Q5 food he sells through the Black Market, and he loses 6 JPY per Q6 weapon he sells through the black market. Obviously, this is an upper bound estimate, since the price on market is far greater than the cost it takes to make them (which I know well since I over pay my workers above market average, and still make some profit).
Let's assume that he is able to sell total of 2500 Q5 foods and 200 Q6 Weapons per day through his black market at lowered price just for this calculation. This assumes that 10 people buys maximum amount possible from his black market. I am calculating 1 gold = 1900 JPY.
Total capital Geezus gained through donation = 37 Gold = 70300 JPY
Total amount of money Geezus is losing per day with reduced price = 2400 JPY per day.
With simple algebra, assuming he sells every day, then it will take at least 29 days for him to start losing money in this calculation. Congress election happens every 30 days. what an interesting number.
Of course all the calculation I did is probably optimistic estimate (unless he manages to get far greater interest). Geezus is making more money from the donation (as gold is more valuable than goods) than he will ever lose from his program. He is offering small service for high donation from generous donors.
This is nothing more than a Scam, a 419. If Geezus in near future ever asks you to support some business endeavor to support young citizen of eJapan, just ignore him. What he is doing mainly is to scam you to hand over gold so he himself can profit the gold, while he can reduce supply of market goods which is not very valuable.

Just FYI. We donated that money to the party before the VAT raise was proposed and it's not limited to this action. But you're right in some respect. Don't send him any gold if you don't want support our causes. 🙂
o/ Akki
And history repeats itself, if I wasn't too lazy I'd go dig up a reference where I bashed Akki (or Alfagrem) for profiteering lulz.
Also that and Oligagnon losing 1,600g is still eJapan's biggest fail in history o/
Your biggest mistake, that we finance not only this action from the 42G!
This is the 3rd (but not last) public acion. I will spend not only this money, I will complet the amount from my own! I have spent more houndred gold so far.. Do You really think I need this money?

Trust of distributing supplies is important, not all MUs should be recognized as a state MU....
The gold has gone to much more than just that one program. It has also included outright gifting. Other programs have given food and weapons to players at level 30 or below, just for the asking, of any party.
No one asked Akki to subsidize the cause. If it will make you feel better, Akki, I will work up an accounting of the transactions. The fact that we have money in the bank now, and are searching for ways to benefit our members is really none of your concern Akki.
Tom,
I wouldn't have noticed or I wouldn't have given any attention if it wasn't so publicized with many citizens voicing concerns. Not my problem there that my scribble caused some unwanted effect for some people.
And you are right. Not one asked me. Even if someone asked me, I will decline outright due to lack of accountability.
Being overly defensive about something this trivial do raise concern. But I could care less. Really who gives a damn about Team Nippon anyways?
Akki,
I'm not being defensive, just stating facts. I'm not sure why you always twist things to conform to your view of the world.
I'm sure you are a good guy in person though, I bet we would get along famously!
I'm expecting a catfight when you too meet in person lol
