There's hope

Day 3,642, 19:04 Published in Romania Romania by Nicolae Crefelean

It was late night when I chose a battle where I could fight without moving. I had full energy (700+700) and the top damage in the 40th minute of the battle was about 12 millions, in D4. Quite an opportunity to try to get a BH medal, right?

I decided to move after all, so I can also use Ghost boosters for such an attempt. Most of the times I don't try to get these medals because I don't have any packs, nor tons of energy bars, nor a high energy recovery. And most times when I do try, I fail because others just overpass me.

So I moved to the allied country, I enabled my boosters (ghost and +50% damage), I used all my energy on the battlefield and I inflicted about 52 million damage. I have +100% boosters but as I said, most of the times I try it doesn't end well and I was cautious.

About 20 minutes later a player having almost 200k strength did around 30 million damage. I thought about writing a private message after the end of the battle, just to make sure I passed my disappointment to the player having almost 900 BH medals while I didn't even reach 70 in over 5 years. Then I imagined writing an article about that disappointment. I was settled for the title "The strong, the weak and the hopeless" - me being among the weak, of course.

Minutes later, the player having 12 millions at the time I decided to try my luck, pushed the FIGHT button and surpassed the other player by a little bit. And what a player - almost 1000 BH medals. So now I had 2 very strong players to monitor and, in my experience, even the chance to have at least one (surprise) other player at the end of the battle to try to grab the BH.

The surprise was... both kept their damage and allowed me to get the BH - no private messages, no communication at all. So the article I initially thought about no longer made sense, but then I thought: why would I consider passing someone my disappointment, but stop from writing about my appreciation?

So here it is, an open letter of appreciation for both players in the battle - EternalWalk and turturica. Thank you both for your generosity. I know the BH medals don't belong to anyone but the person who has the most damage at the end of the battle, but having watched the progress I have the feeling they both looked at my profile and decided to let me try my luck. Someone else could've taken the medal, but no one did. Thank you! 🙂

Of course this happened because there are much fewer players online between 2-5 A.M. Central European Time, but it would've been very easy for both the high-level players (legends) to overpass me. The game feels more and more individualistic after all the changes Plato brought in recent years, but it's not all that. There's still hope for weaker players, because there's still decency among the strong ones.

Thanks again! 😁
