There is no community from The Baron's perspective, am I wrong?
The Black Baron
Ever since I joined the eRepublik, a few weeks ago, I have found it increasingly difficult to make connections with other citizens. The first week or so I began adding coworkers, as this was my only source of finding new people in a way that would be socially acceptable. I’m already at level 9 and I have still yet to make any real connection with any of my coworkers or any other citizen for that matter. The point I am trying to make is that, at least in the eUSA, community is becoming increasingly inaccessible to newer players. It appears to me that many of the veteran citizens of eRepublik know each other and understand the world of eRepublik but they are not sharing their wealth of knowledge with newer players, I did not even know until recently that there was even a PEACE alliance and that it was the antithesis of FORTIS. I was enrolled in the mentorship program offered by the eUSA government; I received 1 message from my mentor and haven’t heard a word from him since. If the eUSA intends on becoming the predominant world power in the world of eRepulik, a much larger emphasis on community must be implemented.

Join a party, join the armed forces, be active on the forums (including party and military forums), and check the latest news tab on the home page often.
I think friendship in games like this is birthed out of struggle. You have to be a part of some struggle to find and make friends. That could be a war, a job, or a forum debate but thats were the best connections are made. I will however say this game is one for the long haul, unless your willing to read up on stuff and follow links its easy to get bored and feel lonely. I think the mobile military is probably one of the best places to find friends.
Have you considered hopping on IRC?
I actually just joined a new party that's a little smaller and more community based.

Is that a socially accepted and polite way of saying "narrow minded"?

Um...what?
Anyway I agree with Baron in that it's difficult to make connections, which is odd considering this is more of a social game.
