thehorseltd - Leading through Action

Day 478, 08:38 Published in United Kingdom United Kingdom by thehorseltd

We are on the doorstep of a new era for the Movement of Democratic Unity. We are on the verge of gaining 100 members, we have gained the respect of the other parties, instating the 'big 5', instead of the previous 'big 3' - no longer are we on the outskirts of eUK politics - we are in the midst of it, working hard for a better country.

So we all have an important decision to make at the next Party Presidential elections. Who can take this party into the next era, and keep it strong, striving for a better eUK. I implore you not to vote for the person you PM the most, or has the nicest avatar. Read up on all candidates - find out what they believe in, and where they want to take the party. Find the person who's ideals you believe in, and vote for them.

If you don't vote for me at the next election, I respect that decision - your vote is the most powerful thing you have, so use it wisely.

What I believe in
I believe in a strong party, a strong military, and a strong country. These three things are central to our party, and our core beliefs.

Strong Party
We must work together more to make the party strong again. We've had many people leave over the last few weeks, most of them being experienced players, and left a big hole in the party. I plan to build a party structure where this can never happen again, with directors being given deputy's who can then learn the ropes. Weekly reports from the different departments will also be a must, and I will look at the way the party communicates to the general public, and look at better ways we can communicate our message. As I said at the last elections, Policies are a must - and I would really like to see the MDU being bold again, not just playing the game of well intentioned defence we've been playing ever since 'Mawn-gate'. The MDU must never fear people like this - we must soldier on and try and do some good for this country. This will lead to a well organised, well defined MDU - and hopefully something the voters won't be afraid to vote for.

Strong Military
As many of you know, I'm a Navy man. I came up through the ranks from the formation of the Royal Navy (Corporal, Sergeant & Colonel - Watch out Will, Brigadear's next!). This has given me great organisational and man-management skills, and the belief that a country is only as good as it's military structure - of which the eUnited Kingdom has one of the best. The MDU must help the military help it's self by pushing for it's involvement in minor wars to liberate other countries, but never anything against the eUK's allies. This will keep the troops more inclined to stay at their posts, and may even help with recruitment. I will therefore form the Department of the Armed Forces, who's job will be to comment on Military issues, and to keep the party in step with the needs of our fighting men and women. These people give up their time to defend this country, so we should never take them for granted.

Strong Country
We are centralist's who believe that it doesn't matter if the idea is left wing, right wing, or right down the middle - if it's good for the country that's all we need to know. If elected Party President I will carry on this great tradition - getting together with the other party leaders to get things done, not just take part in petty bickering that gets nothing done. We must work together for a stronger nation - one that is an example to the world.

The Party President elections isn't about me, and it isn't about any of my esteemed oponents - it's about our vision for the future of the party - what it is, and what it can be. For myself, i'm a Colonel in the Royal Navy, Commanding Alpha Company, but have the unique experience of filling in for Brig. Salmon), I founded the Department of Electoral Affairs - becoming it's first Director and helped the party get it's biggest ever deligation into congress. I was the Congressman for Northern Ireland, a role which I gave up to devote more time to the party, and to our national defence, and I am currently the Vice-President and Chairman of the Movement for Democratic Unity. But those are just roles. If elected I will use everyone in the party to make it stronger.

I'm thehorseltd, and I'm running for Party President.
