The Week In Pictures

Day 1,112, 20:13 Published in USA USA by Heather Fuchs
UPDATE from last issue: NO ONE guessed the fake interview question. It was this one:

What was your favorite military campaign?
I’d have to say the Three Pillars Campaign, because the last pillar (Liaoning) really signified the end of Phoenix dominance over Asia and led to the eventual wiping of Russia. That was a big military moment.

Complete BS. And no one said it was going to be easy. Also, Dim really is in his high school Drama Club. So no one wins the weapon. Watch for future contests!

On to the week at hand! Okay, maybe more than a week…

As you well know, the Mobile Infantry is mobile. So when people start talking about “Turkey Day”, you start gathering your gear together to ship out for Ankara, or Istanbul (not Constantinople). Turkey Day came and went, and the stalwart soldiers of the Mobile Infantry wondered why, after all this talk of Turkey, we hadn’t gone anywhere near the Middle East.

Where are all the enemy troops?

So after not being deployed to Turkey, word came down that we were going to move on some Brazilians. Brazil is always good for a carnivale or two, so even though we’d be fighting in the jungles of South America, the troops were excited to have this to look forward to at the en😛

Or at the very least, once we pressed forward to the beaches, we could get some R&R in. Aside from the cost of moving tickets, beach trips can really boost morale.

Alas, PHOENIX had other ideas for the week. Resistance wars popped up all over, and the Mobile Infantry became a bit immobile in defense of our own shores. Working alongside the home defense forces, we were able to hold the line in a good number of fights.

Finally, as Turkey week came to a close and the next week started, new orders came down from Central Command. A whole new command structure was being put into place, and everyone was ordered to relocate to the new base. As we packed up our meager belongings and prepared to ship out, we waved goodbye to the old barracks and toasted our departure.

As you might expect with any military operation, there was a ton of “hurry up and wait” and a lot less “here’s where you go right now.” But new and shiny usually does right by us.

So a lot of travel, some new menus in the mess hall, and a whole lot of cancelled flights, and another week bites the dust.

At least the mess had PIE

If you can do 45 damage (influence) barehanded, you have at least 200 Strength and a battlefield rank of at least Lieutenant, you too could be a member of the Mobile Infantry!!!

If not, then get your military career started in the Training Corps!
