The Way I See Indonesian Occupation

Day 528, 02:24 Published in Australia Ireland by Trine

I touched a bit on this in regards to a previous article, but I would like to expand a bit. I fully understand that some of these comments will be hard to agree with, and I do understand that they may even come across as traitorous on the surface. I would like to start by assuring you, dear reader, that I have no loyalty beyond Australia and no hidden agenda with any other government than our democratically elected one.

We are a small nation. Certainly not in terms of area, but in terms of population. I do not think that will change in the long term. However we are not small in terms of resources. Our land is positively chock a block full of resources including High Grain in NSW, SA, and WA. We have High Diamonds in WA, and NT. We have smatterings of Iron and Oil in places like WA, NSW, TAS and NT. In short, we have things other people want.

In the time we have existed we were invaded by Indonesia. They took us lock, stock and barrel. The Admins in their way decided that Indonesia on it's own did not require High resources, so they invaded a country with an extremely low population to gain them. That is what the game essentially requires them to do. It just so happened that the place they took was ours.

In that time though they have given us back the Northern Territory, New South Wales and Victoria. They did not need to. We couldn't have taken them back on our own, and they would have been better off had they not done so. Sure we could have been a thorn in their belly with resistance wars but because of the high cost of those things we would in the short and long term be the loser in that trade. It was because of the brilliance of our government and the good heart of the Indonesian government that we got these places back. A few rogue members decided that they also wanted WA and TAS without a diplomatic agreement and started resistance wars that were subsequently stopped in their tracks.

As was established before we have low population and a good amount of valuable resources. We are also a stepping stone to one of the most powerful nations on Earth. Other super powers would be very pleased to get their hands on our territory for the benefits and subsequent wars they could wage from our country. eRomania in particular has a lot to gain from getting such a close location to eIndonesia. Those two superpowers would be locked in a near perpetual war in that case, and the added resources on our land could only be a boon to them. But the war would be on Australian and Indonesian soil.

While we don't know for certain if another visiting super power would deign to allow us to have our three regions, we know for certain Indonesia does. They have never attacked one of our sovereign territories to regain them once given, and they have not allowed our ill advised resistance wars to expand into a greater conflict that would lead to further occupation. Don't fool yourself, they could take us at any time and we would not be able to stop them. We just simply haven't got the population.

What we do have is good relations with one of the most powerful nations on Earth, and consequently a bloody good insurance plan that the places that we do have our flag planted will never be taken from us by roving belligerents. So far Indonesia has shown itself to be a remarkably patient and honorable occupation force, and I do not think that is the sort of thing we should want to give up before we gain the numbers that would enable us to defend our own borders.

In summary, I do truly and honestly believe that if for some miracle of Australian military might we were to liberate all of our ancestral land in the long term we would not be better off and ironically in much greater danger of losing everything we've all worked so hard to achieve.

Feel free to disagree.
