The Top Five IRC: The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly:
JDR1986
I recently went on mibbit under a different name and posed as a new citizen. I was extremely satisfied with two of the parties. Two of the parties rated average and the last party did horrible. I would like to give you a breakdown of what went on in each of the IRC rooms. Also, what happened when I attempted to talk to each of the members that greeted me.
The Goo
😛
UIP: I was promptly greeted by several people. The first person that extended a welcome was danTHEMANheylin, otherwise known as Dan Heylin. He is the Vice Party President of the UIP. I sent him a private message to learn more about the UIP. He told me about the unique options I would have in the UIP, such as the United Independents Writers Association. This program focuses on giving new players help in writing articles. They offer them good topic suggestions, advice, and help with editing. They often recruit new people with messages that include links to the UIP forums and the UIP IRC room. You can get more info on the UIP here.
FEDS: I was greeted promptly by Madmaxwell. Madmaxwell is a member of the Federalist Militia EZC and helps perform background checks for the FBI. He goes by several names on IRC but when I spoke to him he was BadMaxwell. I sent him a private message to find out more about the Federalists. He let me know about the Easy Company Militia and how it benefits new members. By working in the militias communes, the new players are not only provided with minimum wage, but also provided with weapons and food. These items are often times much more than the new players could buy themselves at regular market wages. Find out more about the Feds on irc at #fedpartychat on the Rizon IRC server.
The Ba
😛(Not really bad just doesn't make sense to have average with the theme.)
Libs: I was not greeted for several minutes as they were all embroiled in another conversation. They eventually did greet me, but I couldn't pull anyone away from the conversation for long enough to share about the party. I later PMed CRoy for more information on the Libs. A proud member of the Libs, CRoy is a Vice Presidential contender in the National Election under Inwegen. He told me that the Libertarians are simply "The Best". I probed a bit more and was pointed to a link on the eUS Forums. After probing a bit further I learned that the Libs host a militia known as A.L.A.R.M, a nice forum, some of the best technology in the game, and a fun, open IRC channel. Being a party to just newly leap into the top 5, they have smart, and dedicated party leaders. Find out more about the Libs on irc at #uslp on the Rizon IRC server.
USWP: It took about 4½ minutes before anyone greeted me. They were not even party members. This disappointed me as I wanted to tell you all about how active the parties are in IRC. In the defense of the USWP, the room was dead and no one was talking to anyone. This simple fact kept them out of the ugly spot. The USWP is a great party because they have good leadership on top and a steady supply of new members. If they could convert the two clicking masses in their party to active citizens, they would be unstoppable in all aspects. Find out more about the USWP on irc at #uswpchat on the Rizon IRC server.
The Ugly:
SEES:I spent 10 minutes in this room saying hello and asking questions. I was not even acknowledged as they fought over a stolen org password. This was absolutely pathetic and would have been really discouraging if I was a new player looking for a party. SEES is good for trolls, elitists, and 4channers. This is due to unmodded channels and a hatred of everybody. Find more about SEES on irc at #SEES on the Rizon IRC server.
This article has been submitted to each of the parties listed. They have had a chance to edit what was said. This article is not an official stance by any party and should not be considered as such. This irc room review was done over a short period and reflects what a new player would have seen during that time.

Voted and subbed.
nice. v/s
You would do this while I was away, wouldn't you?
Oh well. At least we're average. Honestly, I feel the UIP channel is dead most of the time.
very good
To be honest, QQing about not being acknowledged in a channel while not being proactive about trying to be acknowledged isnt a fair measurement of how good/nice a party is.
I talked in each of the rooms as I have observed new players talking. Being good or nice is not what this is about. It is about how each of the parties did based on the merits I observed while in each room.
Libs were the most active, UIP had the fastest response time, Feds shared the most information without me prompting for it, USWP was dead, and SEES while being active did not acknowledge a new face in the room even after I started talking.
We all know who you are at SEES. Maybe they thought you weren't worth their time. SEES is only for the strong.
hahaha @ Turd, really?
v'd
Very enlightening, thanks.
Turd I didn't go in under this name so how would you possibly know who I was? Don't make excuses just fix the problem.
somehow... i knew what all 5 of the parties would get even before i read the article. i'm psychic, lol.
Yep! Very nice article, I enjoyed. Voted and subscribed.
Good stuff as usual.
It's a fairly true assessment. SEES isn't exactly open to new guys, hence just walking into the IRC channel won't get you acknowledged. I would add that out of the 5 party channels, at least for me, SEES and USLP are the most interesting. UIP is in 3rd, while the fed and uswp channels aren't even idled in. Feds is particularly bad.
Aren't even idled in? Feds had 51 people in the room earlier tonight which was actually more than when I left USLP tonight. So the Feds being particularly bad is far from true.
Yeah!!!
I will troll in your forum (:
interesting

trufaxx
@JDR
51 people. But how often is it active with actual conversations?
