The Struggle is Real
CGMK
This game is not at simple as it seems. I trained, I worked, I completed my daily military units orders and even ran for congress in less than a month. I was truly surprised that I made it to congress in such a short amount of time, but I now realized that being a congress member doesn't really make a difference and to be honest I don't even think that me making president right now would make a difference either. There seems to be a big divide between the eUSA players and that's the problem, if we cannot get all in the same page we will never win.
I really hope that whoever becomes president next can really take the time to solve the differences and get everyone working on the same goal. Not only winning fights and taking the states back, but to also get everyone to forget about party and military unit lines and focus on helping each other.
Moving forward I plan to maintain my daily routine and focus on the business side. It will take some grinding to get to the point of being a contributing businessman but with a little bit of patience and perseverance I will get there. I will finish this term as congress member but I do not plan to run for congress in the future as I will put politics to the side and let those that have more time to invest in the game to handle the politics.
As some of you might know I came to this game from World at War (WAW), Erepublik's mobile MMO. That game has a domination event which mimics the world map from this game. The map is divided in sections and whoever controls them gets certain bonuses. That feature has been disabled for a while now, I think because they have not been able to get it to work right. When I first discovered this game, I thought about how adding the politics aspect to WAW might help improve that feature and make the game better. But after seeing that this game has the same struggles I see in World at War, I now know that adding politics wouldn't make a difference.

Politics, while fun, is indeed a distraction in many ways if used for cheap division. That's what's occurring right now. You're probably noticing that the world is divided into two basic factions and that our politics mirrors that. It's no secret that the global division has encouraged players to use domestic politics as a way of diminishing or swaying opponents. The ultimate conclusion of that strategy is a plan where enough of your citizens gain citizenship in an opposing or enemy country to tilt the election to a faction that favors your side in the global war.
What I'm saying is don't be deceived. National and party politics can be exploited by our opponents and have been many times in the past. Whether this is currently happening or not is a subject for debate. Certainly the very vocal opposition in the eUSA will deny this. But one cannot help but notice that debate over substantive policy (taxes, military alliances, spending) does not occur. Rather, it's all very bland and full of allusions to real life propaganda.
Strum und drang.
This is why I formed the E Pluribus Unum party. A party of national unity that discusses this exact issue and the challenge posed by focusing too much on the domestic politics side of the game and not the international political and military side.
