The Self Destruction of Venezuela

Et tu, Brute?
- Julius Caesar

When imperialism feels weak, it resorts to brute force. The attacks on Venezuela are a sign of weakness, ideological weakness.
- Hugo Chavez

How sad that the president lets himself become the puppy dog of the empire.
- Hugo Chavez

Venezuela is no more. It has ceased to be! It's expired and gone to meet its maker! It's a stiff! Bereft of life, it rests in peace! Its metabolic processes are now history! It's off the twig! It's kicked the bucket, it's shuffled off this mortal coil, run down the curtain and joined the bleedin' choir invisibile!! THIS IS AN EX-COUNTRY!!

Of course, there's still the question of blame. LFDR, aka the FIE FOR FRAGO party won a sweeping victory in the Venezuelan elections on November 25th, 2009. They had promised to rectify the terrible mistakes past governments had made. They immediately began to implement changes to turn the country into an economic superpower. This economic policy was written in part by me, a professor of macroeconomics at Harvad university. Given a chance to implement these changes, we could have made Venezuela one of the most powerful countries in eRepublik.

Unfortunately, this was not to be. Casiopea, the president of Venezuela and one of the old guard, was jealous of our quick successes. He and several other traitors struck a deal with Colombia and Brazil to hand over the country. Yes, the president of Venezuela conspired with its enemies to destroy the country! As unthinkable as this may be to most of us, Casiopea had no problem doing it. They were unstoppable. In spite of the best efforts of us patriots, the foreign legions rolled in and razed our glorious country to the ground!

All that Venezuelans had worked so hard for so long to build was destroyed in an instant. Our hospitals, gone. Our defenses, gone. Our treasury, gone, looted and bled dry by previous governments for their own profits. All because of a few traitors who couldn't stand to see the country succeeding. And now, there is nothing left, and nothing left to rebuild with. Goodnight, sweet prince. Nevar forget Venezuela, it was an hero to us all.

I see no reason, why Casiopea's treason, should ever be forgot.
