The Republic thing with the eUK.
What is it? Metagaming basically. Involvement for players beyond the realm of what eRep has to offer ingame. Game mechanics will always be more ridgid and can't be circumvented. This metagaming relies heavily on the willingness to adhere to its ruleset.
No one can deny that eRep is in decline. Now look at our little country. Activity is at an all time low. No matter what I say or do, it doesn't bring anyone really back to life. Hitting, working and training quietly, logging in a couple of times a day? That's fine, no problems with that, I completely understand.
The only ones that do speak up now and then, are against everything usually. Again, pretty good, at least your awake, but just yelling 'No!' all the time isn't helping the country at all. Come up with something, share your dreams and visions of the future.
I got elected, and I'm taking the decisions, as long as there is no viable alternative given I honestly don't see any reason to change that. Maybe I'm upsetting some eBelgians now, and I'm sorry for that, but just pushing the 'Yes' button on the CP election day isn't a justification to sleep all day, complain when you can and offer no solutions or work for those solutions.
Concerning our little war with the Latvians, I've not profited from that, if it wasn't for me spending RL money I would nowhere have gained as much from it. My MU soldiers get paid as long as I can afford it, I pay for the MPPs, I have to buy my weapons and food.

We had a forum but now it is dead. We had rules and procedures about immigration, now vanished. Some people are ready to take part of the society but most of "veterans" left the country or new players come then stop when they don't get or they lose what they want.
The most difficult mission is to keep a permanent activity with metagaming and RP.
You are a CP for the fourth time in a row, just because nobody else is really interested to do a job.
Me neither. I am kind of busy with my RL and every day eRep login is just an old habit I am keeping.
I didn't buy Maverick and Blitzkrieg pack again and I am not planning to buy it in the near future.
So you are stuck with it by being one of the very few active and alive players.
I realize that, if I was smart I'd do the same. Busy in RL too, eRep is a bit of a distraction to keep me sane(r).
Sorry Director9, I still don't like the idea of merging.
Then I can remain silent or give my points of view in Newspapers. I decide to give it ; not to piss people off, but just to keep some shades of discussion/activity in our e-country. As you say : at least I show that some people are still awake, that's the point.
Nevertheless, I agree with your game's situation analysis.
Merge won't change much. Why not try it?
The merger with UK is not a solution to eBelgium problem.
The problem is how to find and cultivate own interested players which would stay active and participate.
sounds more like an eRep problem in general 🙂
