The Problems with Linear Strength Gain

Day 639, 13:40 Published in France Canada by Lavis Knight

Hello everyone,

With the recent and continuing baby boom in France i post this article hoping to gain support with an issue that will plague both new players and countries:

The nature of linear strength gain

This not only discourages new citizens who shall forever be the same absolute value behind those who started before, but also eventually will cause defense systems to either become more obsolete or in need of constant readjustment, if the defense systems are readjusted upwards this only further trivializes new players.

So this is my suggestion for a STR leveling curve. I propose we keep STR the same values as they are now; however, we should have one golden rule - anyone who has played Erepublik and trained for a year worth of days should be competitive with the top echelon of players.

A year is a long time and certainly you would not want someone who has trained for a year to be hopelessly behind those who have come before, but at the same time one must reward the ones who came before; thus, they sill have an edge just not an absolute edge.

Currently things look like this if we take two players today one who has played since a year ago and one who has started just today and fast forward one year we have:

Player 1 plays for one year his STR is roughly at 18

Player 2 plays for two years his STR is roughly at 32.5!!!

Player 3 stats today his STR is 1....

As you can see player 1 will forever be hopelessly behind and i feel sorry for the player who starts a year from now. The game will become untenable much faster and defense systems will become more obsolete or need to be readjusted which will put player 3 into obscurity.

This will make it more difficult for future baby boom players and recent players to eventually be a significant force in E republik.

I started a topic here in Erepublik Suggest:

If you agree please to vote it in Erepublik Suggest, if not then i would love to hear counter arguments so perhaps we can come to a better solution.

Thank you,
