The Price of Unity!

A famous line in Heike Monogatari says: "The proud do not endure".

Lately, many players, especially younger ones, have been writing articles wondering why Japan is in such horrible position. What's the reason of our continuous infighting? Why can't we organize a common effort of resistance? What's the root of our decay?

Well, the short answer is PRIDE.

..For the last months, Japan has been torn apart in two sides. Both sides of almost equal size, both sides with some able men and fighter, and both with some good ideas. Yet, they have become bitter enemies. Both sides, too proud to cooperate, too stubborn to compromise. On the contrary, as time went on, we (i include myself in one of this sides) have been so worried in constant fighting and keeping each-other away from power that we have lost sight of what the country needs. Yes, we know what is needed. Some sort of unity. But after so much trolling, accusations and poisonous attacks (even racist ones) against each-other, the division has grown huge and no one wants to make a step forward for fear of falling.

Both camps know they can't win. They may win an election, take control of the government but without the cooperation of the other side they can't achieve almost nothing. So, absurd as it may seems, now, neither side wants the power for which we have been fighting over so much. Because we know that without a united effort the next presidential term is gonna be a failure. The country still penniless and occupied and the citizens quarreling or leaving.

True, Japan is a small country and many of the solutions for our problems are not in our hand. Still, the only way to begin solving them is by swallowing our pride and reach a common ground.

As a show of good faith, Squibeel, has proposed the "dropping" of the military supply system. The new one, a "national", opened to the private MUs is being discussed right now in the forums (please take part). But a compromise it's possible only if both sides accept to pay their fair share of the price. I hope, the other side does its part too and and is willing to play a more constructive role for a prosperous Japan.

Hail Japan!
