It has often been said that it is the media's responsibility to keep the politicians in their place by exposing their activities to the people. Unfortunately, I might as well be the only active independent journalist ever to have resided in Norway. Therefore, I see no other choice than to take this task upon myself. This essay-inspired article is going to revolve around our Grand Supreme President, Akashaton, and how he abuses his power for his own personal gains and to expand his own power base.
First of all, I do not expect anyone to be surprised by his actions. After all, he won a draw in the election against a foreign citizen who does not even have a certificate to allow him to participate in politics. I should probably also inform you that there is a position in congress which the congress has been trying to either remove or reduce for quite a long time, but which hasn't happened yet as our dear Grand Supreme President, who also happens to hold this title, refuses. Previously, we have allowed him to do the half-witted things he does because he wasn't being a threat to the Norwegian society, but it seems that has changed now. My story began at the discussion where we were encouraging our Grand Supreme President to see things through the spectrum of reality.
While I was taking the lead in the discussions on the side of the opposition, I accidentally posted arguments our Grand Supreme President was not able to respond to. When I logged back on some days later, my comment had disappeared. I will not claim our Grand Supreme President is responsible for this, since I do not have any proof, but an admin on the forum has later shown me logs where it clearly shows him deleting my comments. He has also been seen editing my well-written comments in a mocking manner. Luckily, our Grand Supreme President could resort to insults when his intelligence came to a halt.
In Norway the public congress board is open for everyone. When we enacted this change we intended for it to bring diversity and activity to our forum. Sadly, this didn't suit our beloved Grand Supreme President during this discussion. His insults and threats have made it very clear that he intends to make the congress expand his own power base so that he can finally silence me as the criminal that he wants me to be. I guess we just have to be elated that he actually did something. After all, he is not performing his Presidential or congressional duties very well. And don't get me wrong: I'm not criticizing his work. Besides actively avoiding correct spelling and paragraphing, smiley moderation, and grammars, he also does quite an impressive amount of work to make people view him as a thinking creatures with ideas and values.
So as we see, our one and only Grand Supreme President has become a threat to the Norwegian community by letting his hunger for power overcome his ability to let freedom of speech and democracy prosper. He does this by removing and editing information that goes against his will, as well as insulting, mocking and threatening his opponents for no specific reason. In addition, we also see that he is not good for anything anymore. I say this because he does not live up to his duties, and he is no longer a safe choice when nobody is willing to run for President.

As a side note, I've started working with the eRepublik Risk articles again since I finally became able to use my computer again. Unfortunately, the series will end as soon as the next article is up. Also, I will have to wait a little bit before I publish it, simply because I lack the time. I've been having exams in addition to being russ(wikipedia: "Russefeiring", if you don't know what it is.), so I haven't actually had much time to work on it. I'm having an exam in a subject called Politics and Human Rights, which is a really large and complicated subject. What I'm trying to say is; my goal is that it'll be up once I'm done with that exam.

I don't know. Didn't really try to take any. I know I took some, although I didn't really think about it at the time. 😃

Stake, noticed your trolling mood lately..
Obviosuly this is satire. Also, what you refer to as a "trolling mood" is what other people call critique. I have always told people when I think they might be wrong. This is only different because you've revoked oppositional people's freedom of speech, a capital offense some people, including myself, believe needs to be moderated. You see, when I share scandals like these you realise it hurts your reputation, and it makes you not want to do it again.
I do call it unconstructive criticism.
If thats your goal, you need to visit other methods,
as I know I was not the one bending the rules, in this case,
and I find this article and the following publicity,
good fun.. 😉

To be honest I have no idea of what I'm talking about. I just find it hard to believe that Akashaton is the new emperor Palpatine.

I totally agree with Stake, and have seen what akashaton can do at times. At the same time, he have done some work for Norway that has been valuable. But he is a power hungry that *collects" and jumps at every opportunity to be able to have a "title", even if it might be a superficial title as "chairman of congress" or lately Country President. And what scared me in the election, that Stake also mentioned is that even tho he ran against a foreigner that EVERYONE in eNorway should be weary of, Ican Europe, he only won because of more experience. He doesnt have the support in the community as a whole, and his power trip on the forum as of late has proven that even tho he calls me alot of names and he straight out says that he mistrust ME, he should take a closer look at himself and his behavior as of late.
The way I see it, you are the most mistrusting and rude, of us two.
Maybe we both need to examine our behavior towards another,
as of late.
As there are no proof of this it's difficult for me, as a citizen outside the Congress, to make up a good opinion. However I would like to state the fact that editing and removing comments written by other people is a serious violation to our democratic political system.
Stakerauo you mention that you have seen proof of Akashaton deleting and/or editing your comments. If you have this kind of proof please share it to the public. If some of the "material" in the comment should not be made public please censor it in a picture and post a second article based on pure facts and proofs of your statements. Only then can I, as well as other people, support you.

I can provide screenshots of the log that proves deleteion and edit of his replies on the forum, but the edits and deletion is non-reversible, so I cant provide the comments themselves, only the logs that show that it happened.
I think the logs should have been provided with this article in the first place. If one makes a claim, there must be evidence readily available.
Although I do know what Stakerauo means by edited comments. I saw the smilies and things put into one of them when they were arguing.

The thing is that I told Stake not to post in the restricted Congress forum thread, because he is not in our Congress, he kept on posting,
I told taulen to remove Stake's illegal posting access, without any proper reaction, so I removed his newest illegal additions.
It's not about breaking our rules, but keeping them,
in spite of taulen's "efforts"..
It's not restricted for me. If I remember correctly we opened up the congress board for public posting a long time ago. You know, I'm still able to post in the congress board, even after I finally lost access to the Internal Affairs. Also, you didn't mind me being around before I started critiszing you. Why is that? Lastly, Norway has always let players who have proven themselves loyal and useful for the Norwegian community take part in discussions. If you're not defined as one of those players, it's OK, but Norway needs people like myself to maintain inner soveriegnty.

but we are revisiting the option, now.
How did you recieve my words in that way? I criticized you for being useless, not for letting me have access. You claimed it was your responsibility to fix it, and I asked you why hadn't done anything about it in order to make you see that we didn't need the CC. Not once, have I bragged about not being a congress member either, nor did I write anything that could be seen as bragging. Why would anyone brag about not having exclusive rights anyway? Actually, it was never voted on. It just so happened that the active players at that time agreed that a certain group of players should have access to the congress boards at all time to use their experiance to maintain growth and prosperity. One of those people were me.
You "bragged/complained" about being able to post without being a member of congress, blaming the CC for this, calling it useless. The Congress posting access was voted on,
your right to post there, was neither voted or agreed upon.
You were granted access to Internal Affairs.
If the CC was given the proper admin right to add and remove Congress posting access in the first place, things would go more smoothly.

I took notice last month when he began proposing a new motion every other day. And to top it off those debates were Discussion + Debate so many times we could not even debate before voting properly which limits our debate time necessary to make proper choices. I am inclined to agree with the statements in this article.
This is why eIreland uses two congress threads to discuss things. No possibility of censorship.
We have two threads, plus another forum thread.
Then this is hardly the problem.
I think he meant simultaniously with seperate moderators. So if one edits a post in one board, and the moderator in the second board doesn't, there will still be a post in the second board. Also, not everyone in Norway has access to all boards and threads. Some have access to one, some to two, and some to every single one.

The Dutch-Norwegian relationship has always been splendid. However, the way things are now between our governments there is no way I'm going to give that offer any sort of concideration. In addition, there is no country I'd rather be in than Norway, and that counts for all situations. Thanks for the offer though.
