The Predicament, Hospital in Ohio?

Day 699, 18:57 Published in USA USA by GoBucks

Beloved Ohioans,

Time after time again you all come out to support and for that I owe you a huge thanks. My past months in Congress have all been a wonderful experience and I have learned so much. None of this, none of it at all, would have been possible without your support each month. Recently, I messaged all Ohioans and I received such an overwhelming response, it reminded me why I love Ohio so much! Thank you all for being great eCitizens.

In my messaging I noticed a recurring theme; many of you, my constituents, had the desire for a hospital to be built in Ohio. In my opinion this is not an impossible dream, however, in deciding whether or not to support this, I find myself at a huge predicament. The eUS Gov't and Congress in general have been very keen on their support for fortress states only, the argument for such states is very good and they are essential to ensuring the longevity of our nation, as made apparent in the past war. But, you, those I represent, really desire a hospital. As I am torn over what to decide, I came to a conclusion. There can't be anything wrong with trying and if the US Government decides it is not a good idea, then so be it. At this point I have a minor plan to move us towards the desire of achieving our hospital.

First, I must rely on your support once again for this project. I am personally willing to donate all my winnings from being elected to the project, which currently amounts to 45 gold (9 Congresses times 10). Plus, an additional 950 USD, which I received as a donation from a Ohioan upon his retiring from the game. The issue arises as to how I am going to acquire the rest of the funds. No Q3 hospitals are available on the market at this time, so that means we will have to go with Q2 or Q4, the cheapest Q4 on the market now (in Canada) is for sale at about 120 gold and with my investment in the project it brings the price tag for Ohioans down to roughly 60 gold. I will have to rely entirely on donations for the rest of the project, and that is only possible if you guys are willing.

Beyond the obstacle of gaining 60 gold, I would have to gain the support of the eUS government because they would be the ones who would organize the purchase and place the hospital. At this time, it is the policy of the eUS government, to have only two hospitals in order to maintain two fortress states. This is a definite policy with very limited, if any, exceptions and I do not want to cause a major debate/argument over a hospital for our state. Therefore, at this point I am assuming only a diplomatic approach towards gaining approval from Government officials.

Until I gain their support, which there is no guarantee I will, I am going to refrain from collecting donations so I wont have to pay you back in the event of my measure not being approved. Though, I will still accept pledges.

For the record, I stand in firm support of the 2 Fortress system and am solely pursuing options regarding a hospital for Ohio as I feel it is my distinct obligation as a representative of a people to carry their wishes and desires to the government, as that is the reason why I was elected. The purpose of this article is not to stir up debate over the fortress system, but rather seek the option of adding smaller hospitals to the current mix. There are several advantages to the smaller hospitals such as, our willingness to finance it as a state, the fact that many Ohioans are unwilling to move to gain access to a hospital, and eventually we are going to save money by not forcing new players to acquire tickets to move to FL or CA. Though, it also has its disadvantages, such as detracting from the fortress system, more spread out citizens and less fights per day as the hospital we will be able to afford will not be Q5. It is going to be the weight of the advantages versus the disadvantages that causes the eUS Government to make a decision regarding my measure. I completely trust their judgment as they, as a whole, have not led us astray in the past.

I hope this clarifies my stance on a hospital for Ohio. As I am working for the citizens of Ohio it is clear that I will be willing to bend my stance and pursue the desires of Ohioans, but please realize that I can not guarantee a hospital in Ohio. I can only guarantee that I will try my best to attain the support for one from the Government and that I will be extremely transparent in any discussion that takes place.

For Ohio,
