The Pharaoh, Prologue

In the times we are living, either because of our division or for the sadness that the permanent occupation of our lands give us, is so difficult to find somebody with sufficient ambition so as to reach a public magistrature. There’re not so many to choose, though; even without Congress, nobody here shows an aim similar than the Roman Cursus Honorum. The CP can elect as many ministers he wants, but nobody would show interest in this, nobody would want this to happen.

Nevertheless, there’s a position that is more attractive than the others: the Country President, or Pharaoh here, that I’ve got the honor to be this month. But even it’s the most attractive, not because of the power he got, yet for the honor it gives, we can see that this days there’s not so new blood trying to be that, neither on the Egyptian side, with always the same candidate, nor in the Catalan one, where sometimes appear to be more an obligation than a voluntary pleasure.

So then, in the next series I will talk about all that concerns this position: how to reach it, how to do a good electoral campaign, how to be a satisfactory CP, its functions and some more things. I’m not doing this to manipulate anyone, but to help new people that would have the aim to be our President and would know how to do that; taking as the basis my own experience.

I also want to use this prologue to remind you that your Government is here to answer you any question you have. I have had some very interesting conversations with either Egyptians and Catalans, so don’t be shy. Also, you can talk with our MoE, MaZzZinger, a good politician and an even better person.

En els temps que estem vivint, ja sigui per la gran divisió que sofrim o per la desil·lusió que implica l'ocupació permanent de les nostres terres, costa cada cop més trobar gent amb l'ambició o ganes de treballar pel país suficients com per a presentar-se a candidat en algun càrrec públic. I tampoc és que hi hagin masses per triar; tot i no tenir Congrés, ningú aquí mostra un esperit semblant al dels antics romans amb el seu Cursus Honorum. Els ministeris poden ser allargats infinitament, no obstant quasi bé ningú es mostrarà interessat en que això es faci, en prendre partit pel país.

Tot i això, hi ha un càrrec que és i ha de ser sempre més atractiu que els altres: el de President, o, aquí a Egipte, Faraó, que amb honor ostento aquest mes. I encara que és el més sol·licitat, no pel poder del que disposa, que no és pas molt, sinó per a ser un reconeixement individual, una fita personal important, ens trobem aquests dies que no hi ha massa sovint sang nova que es postuli per a accedir al càrrec, tant a la part egípcia, on sempre s'acostuma a presentar el mateix, com a la catalana, on el càrrec, a vegades, sembla més una obligació que una pròpia decisió.

Així, en la pròxima sèrie d'articles em disposaré a parlar de tot allò que concern a aquest càrrec: com accedir-hi, com fer una bona campanya i encarar les eleccions, com governar satisfactòriament, les funcions que té i altres aspectes que aniran sortint. L'ànim de tot això no serà mai manipulador, com alguns diran, ni tampoc s'haurà de seguir al peu de la lletra; parlaré, simplement, d'estratègies a seguir que he vist fer o que he experimentat en pell pròpia, per a intentar només ajudar a l'ideal governant del futur, per a ser només uns articles de referència per aquest.

Al mateix temps, vull utilitzar aquest pròleg per a recordar que el vostre Govern és aquí per a qualsevol cosa o pregunta que tingueu. He tingut moltes converses interessants últimament amb molts de vosaltres, així que no pareu! Alhora, podeu parlar també amb MaZzZinger, el MoE, o sferrer, el líder de PPCC i de la seva magnífica obra social.
