Taking a break from official party writing I am coming to you today with my views on the SFP primary.

These views are my own and should not be construed as an official party position.

In no way do I seek to denigrate any person with this article, I will however present fast and direct conclusions on the candidates.

Let it be known that I hold the utmost respect for anyone crazy enough to volunteer for the job of CP, it is a thankless and time consuming position with a crush of responsibility laid on the shoulders of whoever is (un)lucky enough to be elected.

With the obligatory statments out of the way, let's dive in.

zRTx: While his previous terms were slightly more active, the most recent one has descended into latchkey operation. While I understand RL responsibilities must always take precedence, the eUSA needs and deserves a CP who is more present and communicative.
This eRepublik will always be grateful for the contributions zRTx has made, but at this time we need a change.

Derphoof: What else can I say, many people will vote derp just by name recognition. The contributions derp has made in the past are impressive but I can't help but wonder if that is enough. I fear that a derp administration would emphasize CODE over our own interests, we must be equals with our allies or the relationship will fall apart.

Also, giving free money to every citizen is a good way to get votes, but what impact will this have in the long term? The benefits will be immediate but short lived, the costs will be felt. While I do not agree with the eUS holding a massive surplus and doing nothing with it, I also don't support blowing it on the equivalent of a rave party.

I believe these funds could be better used by building our military reserves up and enacting strategic programs to strengthen our citizens. If there is still a desire to help our citizens keep their money, then we should suspend work taxation for a period of time, we certainly have the reserves to sustain the government for many months as is.

Max Planck: He was actually the first to 'announce' his candidacy this term, he has advocated for more community engagement and communication, something we desperately need as a community.

While I disagree with Max's view that the forums are outdated for government business, he is a realist, I do not believe he will proceed with such a move unless the vast majority backs it.

Max has not made campaign promises, he has solicited campaign input, a completely different paradigm than we are used to in eRepublik. In my view this makes him a better candidate for those seeking a voice, for those seeking guidance.

I also believe that Max will take more of an 'equals' approach with our allies.

So in conclusion, while I believe all candidates have positives and negatives, I can only endorse one. All things being even, I say Max Planck is the best choice for SFP and the eUSA.

Good luck to all of you pirates!
