The above quote is The Story of Erepublik. This is the New World. A clean slate and a fresh start. Here there is no History beyond November 20th 2007 the date Erepublik started. So why am I bringing this up? I am bringing this up because lately I’ve seen something in a few users. I’ve seen people try drag real life vendetta’s into this game. Be it against a country or a politically ideology I believe this is not in the spirit of the game. Partly this is because the New World uses the same names of real life countries and regions do people think they can drag over History into this game.
One such example lately is the attacking of the Peoples Communist Party in the United Kingdom. Lately I’ve seen people not debating on policy but just throwing vicious attacks at PCP because of their name. Not because they have actually done much wrong in Government. Some will say “Oh FD it’s just politics”. I say it’s not. Politics is about debating policies and not throwing mud about left, right and centre. Half Truths and lies for your Political Parties is not right. If you are truly right to run your country you will be above such acts and be elected on how good your Manifesto is.
I don’t have much time to go and write a massive wall of text containing every example of people brining in real life prejudice and fights into Erepublik. This game was not meant to carry on the History of the real world. It was created to write our own for better or worse. This does not mean you have to like everyone or all hold hands and sing in a big circle. No as always there will be fierce rivalries and you will make enemies. Just make sure you make them for things they have done in this game and not what a bunch of stuffy Politicians and leaders have done in the real world.

This \"RL Ireland citizen\" is suppose to make people feel better about you in eIreland.
The same way, people insult others by using RL ideas, propaganda, accusations, etc.

The fact I\'m Irish in real life was only meant to show that it doesn\'t matter were you are from you can be a successful citizen regardless of your nationality in real life. You\'ll notice I was President of the eUK and I still consider myself a eUK Citizen. I haven\'t been in eIreland long enough to consider myself a eIrish Citizen.
My point here was people brining up History from real life to justify their actions in this game. You can draw comparisants by all means but never use them as justification.

How is saying I\'m Irish working to my advantage? If anything it worked against me in the UK at times in some sectors.

IF you want people to reject RL issues altogether, be the first one to renounce them.
It was symbolic is all. I only ever revealed my nationality when people brought up the \"Foreigners are bad mkay\" argument when talking about Croatians, Belgians, Lithuanian and Estonian citizens or bring up real life issues themselves.
If I used it to gain power that\'d be bad but I don\'t. Does my real life Nationality make my points invalid? I don\'t think so.

Right, well, I certainly respect your experience and knowledge of the game, Final Destiny, and I am somewhat loath to disagree and I don\'t know that I disagree, per se, its just that I think what you are asking is extraordinarily difficult for us mere mortals. I can understand why you might feel this way. However the British in this game only have friendly intentions. The Paras are here to vote for ImaNewbie to restore the status quo. We would hope the Irish would do the same if we was in trouble from a Victor esque takeover.
The friendship shown between the United Kingdom and Ireland since December is the great thing about the New World. Despite the troubles of the real world the British and the Irish in this game are the best of friends. Through all our Presidents:
Hattrick, Patton and Collins worked well with Kaleb\'s UKRP Government in forming the first Northern Alliance.
Our Paras and the Irish Special Defence Force fought side by side in Switzerland and South Africa along with the Swedish - German war. Sharing Intelligence and battle strategy.
Shadowukcs and ImaNewbie signed The Blind Old Noun Accords to cement our friendship further.
Myself and ImaNewbie (Though mostly down to Skinny Bones Jones hard work) signed the Northern Alliance contract together.
KIA Sneak has continued this friendship and I don\'t see it ever changing.
As I said, its my problem. I will work on it. I am all for supporting and strengthening eIreland\'s position in the the eRepublik world.

We already won in Dublin, we\'re close in winning the Presidency again and a large part of the Congress. This \"mission\" you talk about looks like what we did here, the difference is we stayed.
Are the paras going to stay in Ireland for ever?
If you want an answer to that you can ask KIA Sneak the current UK President and our Minister of Foreign Affairs Skinny Bones Jones. They and the eUK Congress decide on what happens should you win. It\'ll depend entirely on what the eIrish Provisional Government want I imagine.
