The New congress term

Day 831, 05:49 Published in Thailand Thailand by Jimmy_Miller

I would first like to thank my supporters in the recent election and secondly like to congratulate all new and returning congressmen.

Perhaps inexperience and perhaps over exuberance but there has been a whole raft of new congress proposals over the past 24hrs, most of which are failing. You may not agree with the current taxes in place, but there are procedures for having them altered.

1. Write a Newspaper article or comment in the “Government Proposals” section of the Thai forums here/

2. Wait at least 24hrs, listen to feedback, perhaps people will agree taxes should be changed but not to the amount that you first thought

3. Then make the proposal, perhaps a slightly less extreme change that what you first suggested, but one for which there is more support and you see as a step in the right direction

4. Make sure there is a link to the debate area, changes out of the blue are unlikely to be accepted by most without thorough reasoning why

5. Congress members should be prominent on the IRC wherever possible, helping new players with questions, discussing their ideas with other etc. Our IRC channel is #ethai on Rizon server

Hopefully following this procedure will result in less failed proposals, less frustrated congress members and a better law of the land here in eThailand.

Also as a reminder to congressmen, it is custom in eThailand to donate the 5g awarded to the public pot, so please donate, if you haven’t already to the Central Bank of Thailand.

As promised pre election my 5g has gone to helping establish the Thailand Ministry of Finance ; over the next few weeks this will be playing a larger role in helping to develop the Thailand economy and any small donations to help get the project off the ground would be much appreciated. The Thailand Ministry of Finance will be approaching existing Thai businesses during the next week explaining some of their aims and how it hopes to help, business owners are encouraged to add “Thailand Ministry of Finance” to their friends list to make this easier.
