The National Guar😛 Now With Karate- Chop Action!

As some of you may or may not be aware of, the National Guard's Cavalry Division was deployed to Romania's West Siberian Region in order to aid the Romanian offensive.

A Job Well Done

The 5-day deployment began on the 23rd of April, and was ended on the 28th. The objectives of the exercise were:

1) To relieve the Marines currently stationed in Romania

2) To provide general aid to the Romanian offensive against Indonesia

3) To display the Guard's ability to successfully deploy units to a foreign battlefield

4) To increase the experience and rank of the units of the Guard

All of these objectives were achieved, and the mission was declared a success by both Gen. Istarlan and Marine General/JCS Head Eugene Harlot.

Approximately 120 Guardsmen deployed to the Romanian battlefields, during which time over 2300 weapons were distributed. To quote the Officer in charge of weapons distribution "[distributing weapons] just gets longer and longer. More people keep coming."

What This Means For the Guard

The 3rd Division has established itself as a combat unit more than capable of foreign deployment. Over 120 soldiers have returned to the States blooded veterans, and every single one of you should take pride in the recognition and honor you have brough to both your Division and the Guard as a whole. The title of the "elite of the Guard" is no longer an honorary one.

The Guardsmen still in the 2nd now have a goal. Go through the training program, learn how to operate within the Guard's structure. Your dedication and activity will not go unrewarded, and in time you will find yourself a member of the 3rd, eligible for overseas combat.

The Guard as a whole has once again evolved. We have worked and struggled, and we have grown to fill a new role. No longer are we confined to fighting from home. We have been given a new weapon with which to strike out against our nation's enemies, and we have made ourselves that much more dangerous.

Go Guard.
