The Mystery of Singapore's Missing Treasury (Relorians Part) *Added Content*

Day 912, 15:09 Published in Singapore USA by Relorian

Greetings eSingapore,

By now Tommy has broken the news I had intended to break last week but held off on waiting for the Admins to reply to the ticket I sent in and to give time for Arbryn to review what was missing. My hat is off to Tommy for beating me to press with this story. I had it all written up and saved as a .txt file on my computer but Tommy beat me to it.

I was made aware of the theft by Tommy on the day after it all happened. It might have been earlier but I was over at my Fiancee's house and did not have access to IRC there.

I was shown the tracker of the Country account and Singapore City Bank and could clearly see money was missing. I offered to change the password but was told Boe had already made sure that it could not be stolen from again.

I asked why the hell the password was not changed when it became obvious that someone was stealing. I was told Srnth wanted to consult Arbryn before he did anything.

Srnth was informed of the theft on Sunday. He claims he tried to seek out Arbryn's advice, but the first time he contacted Arbryn was the same day Tommy informed me and I contacted Arbryn. Infact, He beat me by only an hour in his attempt to seek "Advice".

This means that for several hours after being informed, He did NOTHING. He asked for advice the next day instead of locking off the bank when Informed.

Had he locked the bank down after the inital theft, the 3rd of the transactions would NOT have happened. This is extremely Unacceptable in my eyes.

I view that as a SERIOUS mistake. Srnth had NO reason NOT to lock off the bank when he was told. He claims its cause he was on his phone on IRC... But if that was the case, He could have gotten ahold of the people who know the password and had one of us change it (I'll cover more on that a lil later in the article).

Instead Srnth took the lax attitude and decided to wait for Arbryn to get back to him about what he should do (Which I am sorry, if you have to ask what to do when someone is stealing from your country, You do NOT deserve to hold its Highest office or even a lower office)

Now, I can clear myself of this really easily. My last access of the Singapore City Bank can be verified by the admins as the day of the elections. After Srnth was elected, I sent him the Presidential Documents and deleted my local copy.

The way the previous Presidential Document was written (I re-wrote it on my own initiate because the previous one was a cluster of outdated information) it appeared as if when Boe was president things were changed over so I felt secure in not changing things. I know I could trust Boe to keep his hands out of the eSing cookie jar.

Had I been aware that the password had remained unchanged for so long, I would have changed them but from the looks of the original presidential document, most of the orgs had a .co.uk email so I was under the impression they were from Boe changing things.

For my part in not changing the password, I appologize to the nation. I was lax when I should not have been. I should have directly asked Boe if he had changed the passwords during his administration.

Now, Where do we go from here?

Well after consulting Arbryn and talking with her over the course of the week, She and I came up with a plan on how to safeguard eSingapores money that goes beyond the Singapore City Bank. I'll outline it below.

1. The SCB shall remain the bank the President has access to (It should ONLY be the president, No one else). It will be used for stuff like funding orgs and the like.

2. Arbryns Singapore Holdings Bank will be used as a Single party held Bank to contain eSingapore's Gold and Cash Printings. (This bank has been established and has held government funds as far back as when EJ pulled her unsecured and later robbed PSS, SHB functioned as a state sanctioned and contracted bank to hold legitimate Q5 donations)

3. When the SCB needs money, Arbryn will be contacted and asked for a specific amount of money or gold. She will then take note of it meaning the money is accounted for and there is a record of when it was requested and by whom it was requested.

4. The password on the SCB will be changed by every incoming president.

I feel the above is the ONLY way we can prevent a theft like this again.

I am honestly worried what eSingapore is going to become in the future. More of the Veteran players have left to take vacations after long tenures of service (Myself included) and the new crop of politicians dont seem to worried with things like Transparency or keeping the country running (i.e. Canceling Wargames). Sure there are still a few long term Vets in eSingapore trying to stem the tide and keep eSing on course, but more and more they are being drowned out in a sea of voices that have no idea how the country functions and/or what they want to happen with out thinking through the logistics.

eSing has some dark days ahead. Its had some dark days in the past but the ones I see coming with the plans some people have will all but ensure we have no real progress forward and it will start the cycle of death all over again for our nation.

Closing Thoughts:

Srnth has been nothing but a disappointment in my eyes. I as MoD no longer have faith in his ability to lead eSingapore as a nation. I will do what I see is best for the Military and the Nation until the end of his Term and if that means disagreeing with him and/or retaining the military if replaced to ensure it survives, I will do so. This country will NOT perish just because a little kid feels like playing with buttons and orgs at his own whims. This country shall not perish because of someone who willingly did nothing when we were being robbed.
