The Millennium Post - Grand Opening

Day 1,001, 07:13 Published in Ireland Ireland by Maxie1994

This is The Millennium Post, established on Day 1001 of the New World, the first day of the new eCentury to provide a weekly update and analysis of events in The New World as well as offer commentary on such issues and interviews with people of importance in the new world. Most newspapers just report the news to you, but as Editor-in-chief of The Millennium Post, I would like this to be more of a discussion, which is why each week I will do a 2nd article responding to the comments left below by our readers. So if you want to be part of this global conversation, all you need to do is Subscribe.

Please Sir, Can I have some more?

Yes you can, because now as I am writing, today on Day 1001 of the New World a major new innovation has come to fruition. This is the ability bestowed upon us by our creators to consume as much food as we want, and not be limited by the automatic consumption rule. I'd like to look a little in depth as to what this will mean for the New World.

The first and most obvious consequence will be the price of food, as any Economist will know, more demand without a fast rise in supply will lead to a rise in prices, some of the poorer in our community may not even be able to afford as much food as they need or even buy any food on the market at all. This is why we need Supply to be increased rapidly, to maintain an equilibrium on prices between supply and demand, for the businessmen of you, now would be a brilliant time to open that food or grain company you've long been thinking about opening. The demand is there we just need you to go out there and take it. Remember we want supply, the more we supply the lower the prices, and you may turn over a tidy profit as well.

The next biggest consequence is for the military, it can be seen as a good thing or a bad thing for the military. First off, our brave soldiers will be able to fight more and do more damage in battles against our opponents, on the flip side, as this rule is universal they will be able to hit us harder as well. Aside from that, the fact that losing a lot of health in a battle today will not necessarily mean low productivity and skill increase tomorrow as it has done up until now.

Next is the effect on the wider economy, with more food being consumed undoubtedly companies will be offering more jobs in order to increase supply, more jobs means more wages, wages which can be spent elsewhere in the economy, on Moving Tickets on Houses on Weapons. Talking of weapons, with more fighting going on weapons will be in greater demand, again, business people, increase supply.

Whichever way you look at it, there seem to be only benefits with this new development, a good piece of news for our first news article, and who knows, maybe this will go some way (not all the way) to resolving some of the dissatisfaction with how this game has been running recently.

Enjoy!
