The last ten, brings ten more

Day 919, 13:24 Published in Canada Canada by Etemenanki

First off, I am a day later doing this than I would have wanted to, but my life has recently been flipped upside down. As some, only a few really, know, I work overnight at my job, so spend most of the afternoon/early evening asleep. Last week I was on a lovely vacation, doing nothing at home, but this week, I went back to work during the middle of the day. For the first time in ten years, I am working while the sun is out. It’s a wholly different experience, and proved to in the light of a national holiday, cause a log jam with a personal activity I take part in and result in my not being online for much more than a couple of two clicking from the night of the election till about now. With that behind me though, I look forward to continuing my tradition of informing you the people of what I have done as a member of congress.

My Votes.

27) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Poland? Voted Yes. These kind’s of motions are pretty much the second most common thing we do in Congress. It falls to the Prime Minister of our country, or the Prime Minister of the other country to propose these, but the decision rests on our shoulders if we wish to approve them. In this case, making an alliance with Poland would seem like a no brainer, as they have been our ally for some time now, and are a large force within the eWorld, plus within EDEN. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

2😎 Do you agree to transfer 25000 CAD from the country accounts to Revenue Canada? This type of motion is the single most common type we are involved within congress, and perhaps the most important kind. These donations to Revenue Canada are what keeps our system working, the CAF functioning and any of the ministries and organizations and companies that the government operates going. Without these the government of Canada would grind to a halt. These donations are all properly budgeted at the mid point of the month, and are discussed for a minimum of 48 hours by us within congress until approved. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

29) Do you agree to transfer 2132 USD from the country accounts to Revenue Canada? While I have never been sure what reason there is for such a small sum of American currency sitting in our country accounts, or how it gets there, these are all going to Revenue Canada and as such should be properly proscribed budget items. I think I am going to send a message off to someone, probably Minister of Finance asking just why it is that we get small sums of foreign currency in our country accounts. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

30) Do you agree with the proposal to issue 70000 CAD for 350 GOLD? This as I have discovered is one of the cheapest ways for a government to fund itself. Printing money is fairly cheap all in all, with each bill having a worth of only 0.005 Au (gold, check the Periodic Table of Elements if you don’t understand why Au). This is how the Canadian government can engage in bond drives such as have been offered successfully on several occasions in the past. Those of you familiar with this kind of mechanic in the real world, may wonder why it does not depreciate our dollars worth terribly much, since we are dealing solely with electronic currency which cannot degrade as real world money does. The general theory is that small chunks of CAD are lost each time a citizen dies, permanently draining that money from the system and needing to be replaced. Yet another important function of congress. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

31) Do you agree to transfer 16550 CAD from the country accounts to Revenue Canada? As I discussed priorly, these are important parts of our duties within eCanada. I will not be commenting any more on these though as they are all pretty much the same. Refer to number 28 if you wish to read more. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

32) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Thailand? Unfortunately due to the rules of congress, I am unable to discuss this particular motion. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

33) President of Greece proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? We have been allied with Greece for a reasonable amount of time now, and they are in the middle, or at least were in the middle of a war with Phoenix, so this one also seemed like a no brainer. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

34) Do you agree to transfer 74000 CAD from the country accounts to Revenue Canada? See motion 28 if you would like further information on this kind of motion. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

35) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Greece? This was a bit of unnecessary action on the Prime Minister’s part, but it has no negative consequence on us, in fact it is kind of a boon. When a motion such as this is passed two times so closely, what it effectively does is stack the two pacts. Next month, when our first motion discontinues, this one will start up, effectively giving us two months worth of treaty with Greece instead of one. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

36) President of Spain proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? Spain, source of a lot of Iron for Canada, one of the biggest principals in EDEN and a super power for a long time, pretty much my entire time within this game in fact, if not all of it. This is another one of those no brainer motions. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

37) Minimum wage change from 1.5 CAD to 2.5 CAD? See motion 38 for more information. Voted No. Motion Rejected.

3😎 Do you agree to transfer 4000 CAD from the country accounts to TemujinBC Holdings? While I have not seen any official word from TemujinBC on this particular issue, I do not believe he was involved what so ever in this. In fact, if I had to guess, I would say that this particular action was taken solely with the intent of bringing further strife into the life of TemujinBC. Now, onto the actual crux of these particular motions. Both of these motions were authored by Gaius Julius Caesar00, a former congressman. I say former, because shortly after authoring these two motions, he resigned his seat from congress, and left the country, leaving to the UK and subsequently running for congress there. A election for which I understand he has won. I used to have some level of admiration for Gaius, I point of fact said so in the first paragraph of my first article discussing my days within congress. That admiration ended long ago though, as I watched him leave the CSD that he had been a member of and become party president of the CPP. I had asked him when he did such what his intent was, and he told me privately that he wished to move the CPP closer to that of the CSD and to better bring our parties together and working together. As most of you will know, he ran that party for many months. I saw no moving what so ever of the CPP towards the CSD, and I saw nothing what so ever of Gaius aside from his own desire to be important or to win an election. I was reminded of a very important thing that day. Always be wary of what people tell you. Needless to say, this topic was discussed within congress. Voted No. Motion Rejected.

39) President of USA proposed a mutual protection pact with Canada? The United States. As long as we are not at war with them, as we have been in the past, we have usually been allied with them. I look forward to this continuation of allegiance, so long as we cannot annex them like so much Sudetenland. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

40) Tax change: Grain? See motions 42-48 for more information. Voted No. Motion Rejected.

41) President of Canada proposed a mutual protection pact with Croatia? Once more, Croatia, a valuable ally for Canada, and an important part of the world for us to keep out of the hands of Phoenix. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

42-4😎 Tax change: Weapon? Tax change: Defense System? Tax change: Wood? Tax change: Iron? Tax change: Diamonds? Tax change: Moving Tickets? National Chat Room? All of these kind of motions were last minute motions passed by those within congress who had not used up their votes prior to this point and wished simply to garner the small amount of experience that comes from votes within congress. Yes, each and every vote that was cast within congress fosters us, I believe it is 1 exp. There is some division within congress on this particular thought, as we are afraid that those not within congress may look down upon such action quite negatively and simply think that we wish to radically alter things, or to punish those young ones by lowering the minimum wage or what not. Currently there is talk within congress of organizing some way to have these kind of motions become possible to provide experience as at the end of the month congress only ever uses half of their motions, resulting in a great loss of potential exp. I myself am unsure if it is worth it though, as those whom are new may look at these motions and be unsure what to make of it, or worse yet, take the wrong idea from them and leave, or simply cease playing. That is a matter of debate though currently within congress. Voted No. Motion’s Rejected.

49) Do you agree to transfer 20000 CAD from the country accounts to Revenue Canada? See motion 28 for further information on this kind of motion. Voted Yes. Motion Passed.

50-54) Tax change: Hospital? Tax change: House? Tax change: Oil? Tax change: Food? See motions 42-48 for further information on these. Voted No. Motion’s Rejected.

Congress.

Immigration: I took my job as minister of Immigration to congress this month, and managed to I believe do a good job of it. I started up the Immigration topic within open congress, asking those within to begin to approve those deemed worthy for citizenship within Canada. Response was quick and immediate in support by some, and silent and muted by others. I took the time and sent out a Private Message to everyone within congress, and learned that despite having had more than half a month’s time to become aware and responsible members of congress, some had still not become aware of the policies and practices for determining whether someone was worthy of citizenship within Canada. Currently, as stated within the topic, I am working on streamlining the process which CSIS uses to judge some, so as to better be able to work to increase our capacity to take in immigrants, without increasing our risk of attack from political take over.

Forum Lottery: It came up these past ten days within congress, that the lottery that is used on the eCanada forums is underplayed and over valued in regards to prizes. Despite offering prizes such as this weeks, 20 Q5 weapons, and 20 Q5 food, those within Canada still do not view the prizes as valuable enough to bother playing. That is the theory anyways. Motion was made to cut the prize’s worth, which led to a debate on just how much worth should be attached to this particular function of the forum. In the end, it was generally agreed to a value of no more than 100 CAD per weeks worth of prizes be spent. This is a decent amount of worth to be attached to prizes on the forum, as in the end the only currency being spent to garner such prizes is the typing of words. When I began my time within congress, I had but a measly couple of hundred dollars of forum cash, if that. Now that my first term in congress is coming to a close, I have over five and a half thousand dollars, putting me in 8th position overall on the forums. It is truly not that hard to increase ones forum cash, if one but bothers to participate.

As usual there were many other topics discussed within Open congress, and I welcome all of you to come and read and if you are so moved, to participate. There are many members of congress who read the Legislative Branch page and will very shortly see your thoughts and words on whatever subject it is that so moves you to wish to participate. At the very least, come and see how those whom represent you are doing their duties.

Other stuff.

I would like to give a large thank you to those within Ontario who decided to re-elect me to congress. Last month I won in the Province of Price Edward Island, and am fully aware that I won solely on the fact that mobile voters were used and sent there by my party to give me the win. This time around, I take a great measure of pride in knowing that I won in my home province of Ontario, and was voted to a win solely on the basis of true and actual support. When Nosyt suggested that I run in Ontario, I was unsure if I would indeed be capable of pulling out a win. I am happy to see that he was indeed correct, and I wish to thank you all for believing in me, and welcome all who have a question or simply wish to express their desire to contact me.

Till either ten more days go by, or something interesting jumps out that I have a discerning view on, thanks for reading.
