The last goodbye

Day 381, 07:25 Published in South Africa Croatia by Azrael

With the coming of Croatia fast approaching, it seems that the time has come for us to say our goodbyes.

Upon arrival at eSA, I nothing more than a guy who wanted to make some money. I didn't care about the country, nor was I concerned about the people living here.

Soon, however, it all began to change, as I slowly began to realize just what was going on.
The conflict between the Croats and the African was just reaching it's peak, and, even though neither side wanted to admit it, both simply wanted what they thought was the best for their people. In retrospective, I believe that the conflict actually benefited us all, and that it prepared both sides for the difficult times that lay ahead. And that, my friends, is what we should be truly thankful for.

Through the conflict, both sides also realized that they do indeed share some common ground, and began to co-operate. It was during that time, that I became truly proud of calling myself a South African.

And now, as we are slowly packing our bags, I hope that we can once again cast our differences aside, and build a peaceful and strong relationship between our countries. Let's prove to everyone that we rose from the ashes of conflict like a phoenix. Stronger. Wiser. Better.
