The Last Amazing Grays

I realised something when I visited Romania a few weeks ago. People were talking about events in eRepublik and how they had plans for party politics and for the countries. There was some talk about what's going on inside alliances and what happens in the game. This time it occurred to me clearly.

I don't have the energy to be something in eRepublik anymore.

I don't have the passion.

I don't have the stamina.

I have nothing to aspire to.

I have been everything this game has to offer.

All there is left is reminiscing the old.



I remember the old days of French Toast. The collapse of ATLANTIS and the start of World War 3. Cheering the blocking move with Norway, Sweden and Russia that won us WW3. I remember the creation of EDEN and the fall of PEACE. Fun times with EMC. Times when I was the Supreme Commander of EDEN and all that drama in the channels. Trolling half the world with the MI-6 article. World in Flames and the fall of Heilongjiang. All the bugs in V1. Times of V2. The collapse of Phoenix. Creation of ONE and how Spain and Poland left EDEN.

Slight changes in game mechanics won't change that the game has lost its meaning to me. Maybe all that I did for eFinland, EDEN and for several people, all the drama and all the successess and failures just tired me. I've experienced it all and been through too much. When I was asked would I become a Minister again, write articles actively or do any grass-level work, I realised I can't do that anymore. I don't have the will nor the stamina for it. It doesn't feel sensible to me and there is nothing new to learn.

That means it's time to stop. I've tried making a comeback a few times now and everytime I've fell short. The only thing I achieve by trying to hang out is that I fool myself and people around me. It's time to step down for real. It was nice knowing you all, I wish you all good times in eRepublik and in real life.

This song has fitting lyrics for the occasion but the melody is off. I wish someone made a cover for it.
