The Irony of Indian Politics

Before i start off i would like to define the word "Political Party" for you.
-"It is a group of people who have similar viewpoints."
My friend Wikepedia tells me a more appropriate defination for a Political Party-"A political party is a political organization that typically seeks to influence government policy, usually by nominating their own candidates and trying to seat them in political office. Parties participate in electoral campaigns, educational outreach or protest actions. Parties often espouse an expressed ideology or vision bolstered by a written platform with specific goals, forming a coalition among disparate interests."
Now lets get down to business. There is one thing i observed about the party system in India. The members of a party do not share a common view point. They join parties which offer them opportunities to hold power. There is nothing wrong in it because parties do not have any goals.
My suggestion is Parties in India should have certain goals and view points and the members should agree with the views of the party and work towards reaching the goals.People having similar thinking should join the party.
It has been observed that a lot of people are not satisfied with the current government, In this case they should come together form a party, get into power and change the system rather than cribbing about it.
The moral of the story is-
-Parties should have a goal and members must agree on the view points.Parties as a whole should have an agenda rather than every candidate having his own agenda.
It is the responsibility of the party president to form and discuss agendas after discussing it with all the members of the party. With less than 24 hours left for the party election, i hope the forthcoming party presidents do something to organize the party system in India. If i am elected the party president i would certainly do it for my party at least. If i am not i would like who so ever wins the elections to do it.
I wish all those participating in the elections Best of luck!
The above mentioned views are open for debate. Please feel free to comment.

I agree but trying to make Indian citizens active is mission impossible, as you state people are more interested in where they can best get a medal/hold power rather than following a Partys Policy.
David we will have to give it a shot. There is no harm in trying.
And by asking them to follow party policies we are not depriving them of holding power. Its an attempt to make things more organized.
FTW >>> OLD MAN'S DRASTIC ACTION >>>>
we tried ;P DPI and IU were having a nice fight at some point of time and we DPI was working as a whole though IU never did 😃 i hope to see DPI back again 😃
Maybe the way it was done was wrong...If i am made the party president i will try my best to make yuvva function independently.
Agree but perhaps our current agenda is to know what is our agenda ;s
Agrees, let we hav a political fight. This makes things interesting for sure 😉
