The imminent threat eIndonesia poses and how the eUS really showed them[EN]
Lutan Fyah
Yep, you've guessed it (probably not), another pissed-off eRomanian bitching about the eUS and how they never helped us. Well, this pissed-off eRomanian is different. "How?" you ask? Easy, I've been part of the States' two most prestigious units and therefore put know a wee-bit more than your average poo-flinging flamer(not as much as officials, but I'm not claiming to be one, am I?).
This is my second attempt at getting some kind of feedback from regular eMerican citizens(seems like you guys aren't big on track-backing to an article xD). So here goes:
Following the flame-wars between our dear eMerican friends (burger guzzlers or whatever eRomanians are calling you guys these days) and our just as dear loud-mouthed silent-brained(not all of them ,mind you) eRomanians, the justification for the utter lack of allied help received in the past few days(I could say weeks, but I won’t) finally came: Pushing Indonesia back to it’s original territories, killing the lots-of-headed dragon and the destruction of the Indonesian economy. The true problem surfaces:
-Indonesia hasn’t mattered (internationally) for a few good months.
-The heads of the dragons were really reduced to one bridge-head to Peru’s high iron region (I should mention that the said bridge-head was impossible to utilize considering the fact that Indonesia deals under 1milion damage/battle)
-Indonesia waved buh-bye to it’s economy as soon as the swapped Western Cape to Argentina(Western Cape being an actual fortress region and the main diamond extraction region for them).
-Meanwhile, if you take a look at the statistics for this battle, you can notice the astonishing damage dealt by the South-Africans: 100k. From my own experience I can honestly tall you that this country’s active population isn’t over 200 players(most of them being foreigners anyway).
And my biased conclusions:
eMericans argue that it was pointless to help secure a region which would have been lost anyway(being attacked every other day). And they are perfectly right, but Indonesia could also attack Northern Cape the first moment when the eMericans have more important stuff to attend to than the safety of South Africa(which could be anytime really) and take it back. South Africa doesn’t have the population to be a viable objective and the American 2-clickers won’t always be there to get them out of the claws of Indonesia/Brazil/Argentina(talk about Role-playing as opposed to clear tactical thinking).
Indonesia is long dead and they gave up the status of superpower completely the moment they gave away Western Cape, eMerica didn’t kill them with the battle of NC, they were practically kicking a corpse(pardon the metaphor).
America has well-trained military corps. and there’s also a lot of them(523 soldiers moved to Northern Cape is a pretty good example-without counting the ones with non-American citizenships and the ones that didn’t make it to the battlefield). The “we can’t be everywhere all the time” argument would be relevant only if eRomania didn’t have one of the largest mobile forces in the eWorld and didn’t know what something like this implies.
What I'm basically trying to relay here is how an averagely-educated(in terms of game-mechanics) player might see the justification for the lack of support eRomania has been getting in the Balkans.
As for the utter lack of importance some of these battles presented...well, Serbia currently shares a border with Greece. Let's assume for a second that Phoenix decides to take Central Greece away from EDEN(because it's not only a Greek region, it's an EDEN high iron region).
What would the cost to defend Central Greece from this assault be? Would the Asian reign in Africa be replaced by a South-American one during this conflict?
Comments
first!
This average American has been listening to military strategists on where to fight, who have been coordinating with EDEN to ensure that we systematically dismantle the empire formerly known as PEACE
Votato Amigo. Another good one
@system0101: EDEN managed to dismantle the inactive side of PHX(read Indonesia), while allowing the active side of PHX(read Serbia) to come 4 steps away from an EDEN high iron region.
Being part of a military unit, I understand the importance of following orders, but should I believe my superiors are making mistakes, I take the liberty to point them out.Repeatedly.Annoyingly.
This American has not been involved with foreign affairs at all and sees how both sides have a point.
This American hopes that the USA and Romania can be very strong allies in the future, even if that doesn't look possible right now.
USA and Romania only remains friends because they need each other. Both have strong enemies, and need each others support (see: damage) if they ever get attacked.
What would be funny from my perspective would be for EDEN to return into a European alliance and ditch USA and Canada. Unfortunately, that wont happen. So you both have 2 options:
1. Get over it and go back to sucking each others balls.
2. Start crapping yourself.
I know which you'll choose.
As I commented in the previous posting:
While North America is busy "blocking redcoats," we should definitely pursue our objectives here in the Balkans.
To echo many others:
Communication on all levels is key (popular and through official channels).
And to add another note:
Knowledge is power! The average pundit (and punter) is going to need access to information on why said theatres of war are important. You'd be surprised how much the "talk in the air" affects the course of action. This information needs to be around even before the battles occur, so the propaganda (and it can only be called that) gets written. Said propaganda and its effect (for weal or woe) can be seen, for example, in the USA press in the buildup to the Hello Kitty battle.
Do eRomanians discuss their problems with eMericans with their own leadership?
I'd have to say your leadership and our leadership have an idea of what is trying to be accomplished. If you're pissed, PM whoever represents you.
@Tekkez: Thanks for that delightful piece of insight on the mind of a Penix troll.
@Buck Roger:Agreed on all levels, but when the propaganda comes from allies(see the South African justifications) one starts to wonder...
@Buckaroo: If I was curious about my leaders' view on the issue I would have went to his newspaper and asked and, should an answer not be present there, I would have PM-ed him, however, my issue is not with my leadership or yours, I was merely curious as to what regular citizens thought.
Great article
